Looks like real wood!

After looking at a lot of different flooring and prices we decided on this one. The one thing that helped with this decission was not having to have to buy ar rent special tools to put it down. The flooring comes with an amazing amount of glue on it so it sticks great! We put it in our kitchen. laundry room, guest bathroom, hallway and living room. It was put over treated subfloor and vynal flooring. I wood recommend this flooring to everyone. It made a huge difference in our home! Please check out my pictures.

I had a bare, cement floor in the basement that needed a facelift. The vinyl plank solution from Lumber Liquidators was the answer! Although I had only slight difficulty removing the backing paper from some of the peel and stick planks, the final product went down easily with little effort and looks incredible. Highly recommend!

This vinyl tile was used to replace old outdated carpet in a small rental unit. Preparation of the surface is extremely important because even the smallest pebble will show. I used floor patch to level off minor dips and followed up with a peel & stick primer from one of the big box stores. The best advice I can give on installation is to purchase a paper cutter! Cuts can be made with a regular tile knife but the paper cutter makes square cuts every time. The experiment with a herringbone pattern in the kitchen area would not have been possible without it.
I will update this review with durability over time but first thoughts are that this is a cost effective product that is easy to install and looks great.

              • Bedroom

We installed this in our bedroom and love it. It went down easy and was easy to go around items like vents. Mess clean up was little and could keep up with clean up as you installed the floor. The backing paper would sometimes not come off all the way , so was time consuming to peel off bits that stayed on. Looks professionally installed and seams look great.

My 11 year old daughter and I (40 year young lady) put this tile down in our semi-finished basement over cement and an existing vinyl tile. Used the recommended primer. The floor looks great. I am far from a DIYer and not very talented or patient, but in about 5-6 hours total, we covered over 200 square feet with some difficult angles to cut. Very happy with this product and would use again.

Very cool product we chose to experiment with when our finished basement had a small (but carpet/pad destroying) flood due to a sump pump failure/burn up after a super heavy rain/rising water table. Husband was not sold on the idea of "vinyl" anything initially but I was paying so I went with it. He installed one smaller room first to see how it would look and was really nice/he loved it. He is almost finished the 1000 sq foot basement area we needed complete and was very easy (though TIME CONSUMING with all those small strips). His back is sore but he is very pleased and the thought of a future sump pump failure (knock on faux wood-look vinyl!) is no longer as frightening as it was when we had to strip out 1000 sq feet of wet carpet and pad. If you have the patience to install it and "get"/can come to terms with the fact that it IS vinyl (though as close to a wood look/textured look as I have ever seen, and I am in residential real estate), this is a great product. As many have said, using a little extra glue on the corners of the strips during lay-down helps make it stick better/reduced the possibility of cupping here and there.

I originally purchased this at one price which was a great price. I received the product after about a week due to FedEx losing two of three of the boxes and then randomly bringing me 30 pieces they lost out of the boxes they had already lost once. By the time I received it, Lumber Liquidators had increased the price by 20 cents a square foot despite still advertising the same sale.

The product itself was easy to install. Some of the product was harder because the backing would not peel off...I assume due to being exposed to heat? It is very thin but looks decent for the price.

Best to put down a layer of new luan board first.

I have three rooms that have a long hallway that has doors from all three opening into the hall.

Do I lay the peel and stick planks perpindicular to the hall? so that in the door jam the planks are horizontal into the hall?

I have old vinyl in the kitchen and then carpet in a dining room. I am wanting to make all the same flooring. Do I need to remove the old vinyl so that there is no difference in height to the particle board floor when I remove the carpet.

If the height difference is less than 1/8" you will be fine, you can also feather out the difference using 30lB roofing felt (in different size layers) to make it a gradual slope to meet the manufacturers subfloor specs.

I am really interested in the Tranquility vinyl flooring and will be installing it in a basement over concrete that had glue down carpet pulled up. We have scraped the concrete but there are traces of glue still stuck on. What preparation do we need to do and what is it meaning with the underlayment mentioned in the specifications over concrete?
