great budget floor material

Pros

    Cons

      Best Uses

Looks great considering that it is a very low cost product.

About 5% of the purchased product was slightly damaged. Damage appeared to be caused the
by the band used to secure the product on shipping pallets. We will use this product again if we get
        credit for the damaged tiles.

        Flooring is great

        By wen

        from Vacaville

        Pros

        • Budget-friendly flooring.
        • Looks like hardwood.

        Cons

          Best Uses

So far so good. It's been about one month and I'm liking the flooring. Seems to be holding up pretty well. Everything is sticking. A few pieces popped up when they planks were first laid and I just applied cement glue to those pieces and that did the trick. Last night I spilled some wall paper removal gel unto the floor and the floor held up okay. Overall, very satisfied.

We picked this flooring for the price, but it looks beautiful once it's all down. We have had so many compliments and will be finishing our house with this. It is really easy to clean and we've even been able to get permanent marker off of it without damaging the flooring. Get it! you'll love it!

this floor was really easy to work with however the self adhesive failed. We had to glue it down .It really is a pretty floor. I hope they can improve the self adhesive in the future.

Love this stuff. We put it down throughout a basement and people always think it's actual hardwood or laminate hardwood. It's actually better looking than the hardwood laminate we installed upstairs.

                          • Anywhere

We used this product in our family, kitchen, nook and dining rooms. Hallway as well.
We laid it on top of cement. We took up carpet/padding/tack strips/filled holes/scraped/ swept/degreased floor/clean water then wiped it down with towels and let it dry for 30 min.
We then started laying the vinyl and everything stuck really well to the cement. Wish the width was a little more on the pieces but it looks gorgeous. I was really easy. It is very time consuming but the more we did it the faster we got.
Small complaint: the paper on the back that peels off gets stuck sometimes and that is a little irritating. I did find that if you can stand the tempature a little higher like 70°-75° then the backing comes off a little easier.
                          ** Helpful hint on cement
Let the vinyl sit a few hours with the prepped floor the same temp @ 75°. Keep it that temp the whole laying time. Then once finished make it cooler in the room and you will have a tight fit!!

The tiles were easy to put down. The glue made my hands sticky, but WD40 was able to get it off.

I am prepping a double-wide house for resale. This product is a great value. It is low priced, looks great and I installed it myself. I have installed other peel & stick flooring, but this is the best looking floor of that type I have used. Most people cannot tell if it is laminate or vinyl. I had a couple boxes where the glue was applied to the sides of the planks which made handling the pieces very frustrating and I had to clean the glop off of each piece. But the other 21 boxes were fine. Like others, I spent more time removing the backing paper than putting the floor down !!

I used this item on my kitchen walls, under my cabinets. Product has adhesive on the back but it is not strong enough to stay stuck on the walls. Had to use GOOP on each panel to make it stick without falling off a few hours after applying to the walls.

I purchased this for my spa and 4 years later it still looks fabulous. It's so easy to clean and I never have to worry if a large amount of water spills. As a matter of fact, we have a major rain storm and the window blew open. I have no idea how long the rain was coming into the room. There was large puddles of water just sitting on top of the floor. I got a bunch of towels, absorbed all the water and the floor is still looking gorgeous. We did use extra glue due to the nature of our work and how often the floor gets washed. People cannot believe is not only NOT real wood, but also I only paid .79 per SF. You can't go wrong with this product.

I have installed this flooring last night throughout my house. Looks great. Only one problem tho, my floor is sticky from the glue. I have tried lightly scrubbing it to get the glue off, which it goes after a while of scrubbing. What can i use that will not damage the planks, that I can get this glue off easier and faster?

This would be considered an experimental installation. It may work if you use in conjunction with LVT Lock adhesive.

I am looking into purchasing this product. In order to install it, do I need to remove the baseboard? Can it go right up against the wall or does it need to be spaced out a bit, like laminate? Our baseboard kind of has like a second thin trim at the bottom, so I think it hits the floor more than just a typical baseboard does. Also, how well does this hold up with pets and children? Lastly, how well will it do around a fireplace? Will it start to come up?

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.

I just purchased this flooring and so far it is looking good (partially installed). Got to thinking though - does this thin (1.5mm) vinyl show dents from heavy furniture etc? it is a low-traffic area, but I will have 2 filing cabinets and book shelves. How to prevent floor from showing dents (if any)?

Storage area and Job site should be climate-controlled with temperatures of 65°F-75°F for this vinyl flooring.

                                        No HVAC flooring;

Wood flooring is a dynamic material subject to changes in dimension as a result of changes in humidity in the surrounding environment. It is recommended that the rooms that will have prefinished wood installed be climate controlled with temperatures of 50 to 80 degrees F., preferably 65 to 75 degrees F. humidity of 35% to 55% maintained. In addition, the rooms should not be closed off from a normal air flow. Therefore with prefinished flooring, you will experience problems in a non-environmentally controlled area. Our most stable flooring is our engineered, bamboo, cork, vinyl, and laminate. They too recommend climate control in their expressed warranty's.

Urethane finish can't handle the dimensional changes that take place with extreme environmental shifts, HOWEVER you can use an unfinished hardwood (preferably quarter/rift sawn) finished with tung or other natural oils as with covered porch flooring. These site finished penetrating sealers expand and contract with the flooring without cracking.
