Q:
Can I (useing the Stair nose) glue up flooring boards to build full stair treads, and should I use all full length boards. what is a recommended adhesive to use

  A:
  Stairs can be covered with nosing and flooring combination completely.
  
  For safety, stair parts should be both nailed and glued. Working from the bottom step to the top step, apply about 1/2" thick bead of adhesive to the back of each board in an "S" type pattern then Nail the tongues.
  
  Best adhesive to use is construction grade, 100% urethane from the LIQUID NAIL family of glues.
  
  In addition, for strength stair nosing should also be back-glued and top-nailed. Joists or stringers support stair treads and risers. Pre-drill nail holes half way into the stair nosing over each stringer, nail through the board into the stringers using a 2"-2 1/2" 7d-8d finish nail, counter-sink and fill holes and fill with a matching filler.

Q:
We just received an order of scraped flooring for our second floor.
As part of the order we received a bullose piece for the top of the stairway. The box says bellawood but the profile is the same.

The flooring is a floating clic together flooring

1. What is the method I should be using to secure this to the floor. It is glue and screws to make sure it doesn't move?
2. How do I marry this piece to the rest of the floating floor so that the seems stay tight and this piece doesn't cause a problem with the actual floating flooring?
Does the floating floor butt up or am I supposed to be using something like the t-molding?
3. I haven't looked yet since things are still in the boxes but what will will I need to do to compensate for any height difference between the flooring/padding and the stair piece? Any docs on that?
