Q:
I will be placing Tobacco Road T-Molding where the tile in my bathroom floors will join the Tobacco Road Hardwood floors to be installed in the rest of my house. I will be installing new bathroom pocket doors before the Tobacco Road flooring is installed. I need to know how much above the top of flooring the T-Molding extends so I know how much to trim the bottom of the door so it will clear the T-Molding as it is opened and closed. I would like to keep the bottom of the door as close as possible to the top of the T-Molding without rubbing the top of the T-Molding. Thank you very much for your time and assistance.1 answer
A:
The measurement is 5/16"Q:
I am buying the casa de colour tobacco road acacia and was curious about the t-molding, I need to put something at the doorway to transition to the hallway, which is a bamboo floor, but the dimensions on the t-molding are a bit odd based on the response to the person who inquired before. I simply need about the length of a typical doorway, about a bit over 2 feet and the width, I assume is like an inch or two? The response to the previous person, indicates an extreme width and length, almost like an area rug. What are the true dimensions?1 answer
A:
Prefinished Tobacco Road T-Molding- 5/8" (overall heightincluding leg of T) x 2" wide and is 6.5 lin ft long.Q:
What are the dimensions of the T-molding? Specifically, what is the width of the vertical piece of the T?1 answer
A:
The molding is 2"W x 7.5'L and the tongue is 1/2"W x 1/4" from the topQ:
How do I install this T-Molding? I have put down 4 3/4" x 3/4" Tobacco Rd, what size expansion space should I allow at the T Molding, 3/4" like around the room? Do I face nail the T Molding or is there a metal U-channel it snaps into like with Laminate molding?1 answer
A:
You should leave a 1" space for the T-molding to allow for expansion space between the two floors under the overlap. Depending on what floor you are butting up to you can glue it to the opposite side of the new floor or nail it into the other floor. You do not want to nail into the new floor, this will restrict the expansion and contraction of the wood.
