Mayflower- 5/16" x 4" Aberdeen Birch- Prefinished Engineered Flooring- 10 Year Warranty

Mayflower engineered flooring is constructed with a real hardwood veneer atop a core consisting of layers of plywood. The core layers are precisely stacked with the grain of adjacent plies perpendicular to each other. This construction design provides greater stability as each layer offsets the next to counteract normal movement as the wood responds to the effects of moisture and temperature changes.

There has been a great deal of confusion in the media and online about Lumber Liquidators and the products we sell. We want to set the record straight. First and foremost, we believe that every product Lumber Liquidators currently sells is safe and in-line with all regulatory requirements.

      Here are the facts:
•On February 18th, an agency of the CDC updated its previously released report on formaldehyde in laminate flooring products. Lumber Liquidators does not sell any of the products covered by the CDC's report. The report does not relate to our bamboo, hardwood, tile, vinyl or engineered flooring products, or the current laminate products sold in our stores. The CDC's report relates ONLY to certain Chinese-sourced laminate flooring products, which have not been sold by Lumber Liquidators since May of 2015.

We are committed to operating with integrity and providing you with the best flooring at a great value. After concerns were initially raised regarding the Chinese-sourced laminate flooring, we immediately initiated a voluntary air quality testing program. While the CDC has not recommended that consumers need to replace laminate flooring, it did encourage people to reduce exposure by taking steps such as airing out your home.

We understand that you may have questions or concerns and encourage you to visit our website. Click here to learn more about these products and how to participate in our in home testing program.
•If you installed laminate flooring from Lumber Liquidators prior to May 7, 2015, please visit https://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/testkit to check if your laminate flooring qualifies for a free indoor air quality test kit.
•If you have other concerns regarding the laminate flooring you purchased from Lumber Liquidators prior to May 7, 2015, please contact our Customer Care team through our online form at http://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/contact-us/request.

We remain focused on serving you for many years to come and answering any questions that you may have regarding our products.

  • Q:

Is this the same product as Mudslide Birch? I know that was discontinued and this appears to be an exact replacement (the stock photo is the same). I have some Mudslide Birch that I would like to be able to use but was not able to buy more for our project due to it being discontinued. Wondering if this will match. Thanks!

I have purchased and installed this product in my bedroom and saw the 60 minutes episode about the formaldehyde concerns. I understand it applies to the laminate flooring but this floor also contains formaldehyde, is this floor safe? how is my flloor different than the laminate flooring? What assurances can you give me that it is given the tests that have been done to show otherwise?

      A:

      Yes your floor is safe.
This product has a ply wood backing whereas laminates have an MDF or HDF core, the plywood used must meet CARB compliance before being used to make it into a finished flooring product.
Lumber Liquidators takes pride in the quality of its products and is a leader in safety. We comply with all applicable regulations regarding our products, including our engineered floor products.

We take numerous steps above and beyond what the law requires so that our customers get safe, high quality products. We believe our quality assurance and compliance processes are among the most advanced and thorough in the industry.

We do not sell products that do not pass both regulatory standards as well as our own internal testing. If a product or supplier does not pass at any point, we will not purchase or sell the product from the supplier.

Some of the testing cited by 60 Minutes was conducted based on sample preparation methods that have not been independently verified by an accredited standards organization and do not reflect the manner in which the product will be used in the home. We comply with California regulations and our quality processes include testing in accordance with, and in addition, to CARB protocols. Our products are safe to use as intended.

Lumber Liquidators is committed to transparency. To learn more about our efforts to ensure high quality, safe products for customers like you, visit http://www.lumberliquidators.com/safety

  • Q:

We have all ready installed this flooring . I was wondering what cleaning methods/ products are recommended?
Asked on 3/27/2015 by dB from ny

      A:

      Cleaning and Maintenance

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.
      Thank you for your inquiry.
