Q:Can this product withstand dog urine if it is not cleaned up promptly?
A:Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.
Q:we have glued wood veneer square tiles down in two rooms is it possible to install the laminate over these because of the glue.
A:You can find complete installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the specs tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.pdf
Q:is there an installation guide that can be downloaded for this product?
A:Yes, see - www.lumberliquidators.com/assets/images/installation/dream_home.pdf
Q:Can this specific type/style of flooring be laid over radiant heat mats - is the attached padding combustible?
A:Yes you can!
Q:How would the African Burlwood laminate hold up to 3 100 lb dogs, and would the snow and rain water from shoes comming in and out of the home be a problem for the flooring? Really like the design and color of this flooring but hate to waste my money if it cant hold up to every day traffic.
A:This is the thickest laminate that we retail (other than one 15MM) so it is the most durable. The key to keeping the flooring looking wonderful for years to come is the maintainence - make sure your dogs nails stayed trimmed and clean up any water as quickly as you can and don't allow it to soak in for extremely long periods of time
Q:What is the weight per box?
A:Each box weighs about 47.87 lbs.
Q:Where was this manufactured?
A:This is a product of China.
Q:How many unique patterns are in this package?
A:There are usually three to four different patterns per carton.
Q:My floor is new and I see a 1 inch area at the end of a slat in the middle of the room that is raised. I'm sick about it. Can my workman correct that without redoing the entire floor?
A:It sounds like you may have a buckling floor. Buckling is a problem caused by expansion from humidity level change. When levels rise the flooring expands, if there isn't the recommended expansion gap or if there is something else stopping the the movement such as a nail or trim that prevents expansion, it can bind and buckle. Inspect the perimeter of the flooring and see if anything is jamming it up. If you find the problem, remedy and dis-assemble the flooring to the buckling. Reinstall.
Q:I have a two year old and a 1 year old dog (medium size). I am looking for a seamless transition between my den and kitchen. It will also be the flooring in my laundry room and pantry. It will be installed as a floating floor over a concrete foundation with a moisture barrier underneath. I am very concerned with the water spills from the dishwasher, sink, etc and from my child. Will this floor hold up to normal daily activities with a 2 year old? Do you recommend going with this flooring? Does it scratch easily? My son loves to play with trains and cars on the floor. Am I picking the right flooring for my family?
A:All laminates require liquid spills to be wiped up "promptly" to prevent moisture seeping into the joints between the planks. It does have a very tough finish it does not easily scratch.
