floor looks great, had to trim portions of pressed board that slides into the ends of the adjacent board other wise pieces would routinally break off

I remodeled my main living area - kitchen, dining, and living room areas. My contractor laid this floor down and couldn't stop commenting and showing other subcontractors how beautiful it was. I love it, it looks as great as I'd hoped but I'm a bit disappointed at how easily it dings or dents after a few heavy things I've dropped on in. The surface is shiny so I feel like I have to keep it clean - which is not a bad thing!
It was affordable so I feel like in a few years if I want to upgrade to serious hardwood from Lumber Liquidators I can. Overall I would recommend this product with that note of caution. I have it in the kitchen (open concep so I wanted uniform flooring throughout) but I worry about water getting in the seams and it buckling.
Service and delivery comments:
My installers said a lot of the pieces had damage on the ends which was a bummer. But the company delivered it to the barge line (I live in Juneau, Alaska) as scheduled. I ordered transition strips after the fact and they mailed me those items quickly.

I not only got a great deal on this laminate flooring, but it matched perfectly in my kitchen, was easy to install, and looks wonderful! I was able to install in a morning/afternoon with the help of my 4 year old. Hardly had any scrap, and wood was easy to cut pieces to fit with a fine tooth hand saw. Chipped in one or too places, but not too bad. Thanks for the great deal!
Used this floor in a bedroom. Very pretty but a pain to put in. Pcs were breaking easily. Sales people didn't tell us the boards were going to be 3 different sizes. Just wish we had known.

Product is generally good with some imperfections in planks. However, service could be much better.

This floor was nice in the showroom, but it is gorgeous on the floor! I was alittle hesitant about purchasing it because there is so much color variation. It was somewhat out of my comfort zone! All I can say is WOW!! What a beautiful floor! I highly recommend it.
If I have to give you a con, I would like to see a little less shine, but certainly not a deal breaker.

Picked up over 2000 sq feet in store at Spokane Wa. Extremely helpful staff, we are laying this ourselves in 2000 sq feet + and for amateurs it's going in very good. Looks beautiful, didn't plan on buying a laminate, but look at the photos, looks like wood, people who come to look, like it better then my hardwood maple downstairs.. Haven't finished the job, so I can't talk about durability, but when you lay this stuff correctly, it looks amazing, saved thousands and thousands not buying the hardwood.. This lays just like a hardwood, piece by piece, so no snap in sections you can customize with the pattern and really give it a hardwood look..

This flooring product looks great, installs easily and gives any room a fresh new look. This product is thicker than other laminates.

We installed this product ourselves and it was our first time installing any kind of flooring. We did a 230 sq. ft. room and it probably took us about 8 hours.
Before you panic, it would go much faster than what we did if you: 1. do not have floor registers (we had two and in the first row of boards to boot!) and 2. do not discover a leak around your patio door that necessitated some of the subfloor being patched. For the first, I recommend not only using a jigsaw but also a Dremel so that you can cut everything precisely. And make sure the register covers fit before you move on.
For the second, I recommend you thoroughly inspect areas for water damage, etc. before you start. Thank God it was raining when we did ours or else we would have not discovered this newer leak.
We also tore out all of our old carpet ourselves -- an easy job, but a detailed one since we had to go around and pull out all the staples that secured the pad to the subfloor. Make sure you inspect that subfloor and vacuum thoroughly before you start and during the job if you are stopping and starting like we did.
As for the actual board install: once we got beyond these two issues, it was very simple. Measure, cut, lay, tap, repeat. There is definitely a method to it that you learn. Don't get too far into things too quickly -- always look back at your last few rows and see if you can tap/tighten anything before moving on.
We used the laminate install kit that LL offers. The tapping block and the bar were perfect. The spacers were kind of unnecessary because we used scraps of flooring as we moved on.
We had only 2 whole boards out of 12 boxes that were unusable. We were very satisfied with the quality there. We did have some boards that had a big excess of the underlayment attached. All that needed was a snip with scissors, though. Easy peasy. I also found the color variation between boxes was minimal, even though we worked out of 2 boxes at a time while installing.
That's another thing -- be sure to read the instructions for info about minimal length and width of boards at various points in the room. All of that stuff is important to help your flooring last -- otherwise, why would they have bothered to include it?
So far, about a week in, we are very happy with this. We have two dogs and they have not managed to scratch or dent it up yet. We chose laminate for that reason -- the salesman at the store said it was durable, and he was right. I am so glad they steered us away from engineering hardwood. I know a lot of people search the Internet for answers, but seriously, talk to the store staff. They know their product and if you are honest with them about what you want and the wear/tear potential, they will help you achieve it.
the Laminate flooring was very easy to install and with the built in underlay made it very fast

Q:
Can this flooring be used to do a staircase? I see you sell the Mission Olive stair nose. How would doing a staircase work?1 answer
A:
Yes, laminate flooring can be used to cover a set of stairs but due to the overlap design of the stair nosings it would not be my first choice for a full flight of stairs.Q:

I'm having trouble with color... the sample I got in the store was very blonde with no dark grains, but the pics on this site show a darker version with grains. And the same with others samples and pics. Very different. How do I know which to get?1 answer
A:
It is hard to base a purchase on one small sample, the store should have a larger that better shows the color and graining.Q:

Just installed 1200sqft of this laminate. Trying to figure out the best way to quickly clean it? Can I use a swiffer? Or a cloth mop that has an attached sprayer for our own cleaning solution? I know I shouldn't use a lot of liquid. Just not sure what types of soaps to stay away from. Would Murphy's oil soap work? Please let me know! Thanks1 answer
A:
We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.Q:

I am considering purchasing this product for an above-grade, OSB, residential installation. The manager at my local store told me that this product is not warrantied if an underlayment isn't used. After reviewing the specs, reading the comments, and contacting NALFA, it seems that this is simply not true. Where can I find a definitive answer on this?1 answer
