Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury.

Quick Highlights:
- Real Bamboo
- Eco-Friendly
- Easy Floating "Click-Together" installation
- 30 Year Warranty

Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

Looks like a professional did it!

By Knee & Taxi driver

from CO

We wanted to replace our 20+-year-old carpet with something that looked fantastic, but didn't cost a fortune. (Filet mignon tastes, on a hamburger budget). We went with bamboo hardwood and everyone asks who we had do it and are totally amazed when they hear we did it ourselves. They all say it looks as good as a professional. You can have that steak on a low-budget, you just have to take the time to shop well.

Service and delivery comments:

John, the manager at the Aurora store, where we made our purchase, was AWESOME! He was patient and took the time to listen to our wants, walk us through many options, and helped us narrow it down from our choices. He explained to pro's and con's of each of our choices and guided us to a suitable selection for our home.

Pros

  • Installs easily, Seems very durable, not flimsy

Cons

  • Pattern repeat I did not like

Best Uses

The only thing I did not care for was the flooring has a repetitive pattern. It is hard to lay out without that being to obvious. Otherwise very good flooring.

This is an incredible and stunning product. Very versatile, sustainable and affordable.
Wish it would be available with a matte finish. Personally don't care for glossy finish- too much cleaning ;)

    Esay to Install.

    Pros

    • Easy click together install.

    Cons

      Best Uses

Very impressed with the flooring. I installed close to 800 square feet and did not have a bad piece in 28 boxes. I removed the flooring completely from the boxes and let acclimate for a week before the install. I installed it over a plywood sub floor. I had a couple of low spots that had to be leveled using a leveling compound purchased from the local home improvement store. I went with the Bamboo because it is hard and does not scratch easily although it will scratch if you don't take precautions like using good quality felt furniture pads. Looks great !

Beautiful floors and easy to install.

        Cons

        • Scratch easy.

        Best Uses

When my wife and I were looking at floors for this room, we had no idea that we could put down natural wood on our concrete floor. We were under the assumption that we had to go laminate. Having purchased rustic red oak floors from Lumber Liquidators a few years ago for another area of our house, we couldn't find a laminate that could match the beauty of the oak. The employees mentioned that we could use bamboo on the concrete couldn't be happier with the results. Super easy to install. The only issue I have is that the floors is that they scratch very easily. They are sold as being a zillion times harder than oak, but they do scratch. Beautiful none the less.

Unfortunately this stain is not available in a can for retail sale. I would recommend bringing a scrap piece of the flooring (and a piece of white oakwood you will be staining) to paint store and they should be able to match the stain for you. Thank you for your inquiry.

I just bought this product for installation upstairs in our 2 story home. I just realized that our gas fireplace on the first floor vents under the floor of the 2nd story and the floor where the vent pipe runs gets warm.

Will this be an issue for the wood? will it cause it to warp/expand?

It may, however you should be okay as long as the surface temperature never exceeds 85F.

For optimal floor protection the indoor humidity must be maintained between 30-50% year round. Proper humidity levels are maintained by use of a humidifier. To protect your investment and to assure that your floors provide lasting satisfaction a whole house humidification system may be required.

I just bought 800 sq. ft. of the antique bamboo flooring. (getting ready to install this into 3 rooms and a hall way all connecting) I was originally going to do a floating floor. The manufacture states if a room is over 30 ft. you should have expansion joints. I want my floor to be all one floor with no T expansion joints from room to room separating them. I understand the need for the 1/2 on all the side walls. How do I get around this not having expansion joints from room to room? If I glue it down instead, will I be able to have just one floor look? Please help.

              • Q:

                Hi,

I was instructed to build up low spots in my floor by using the self-leveling compound (over plywood) and then glue down the morningstar Bamboo instead of float it, since the floor isn't completely flat. I do see this in the Q&A though, which makes me question what is best:

("Leveling options are Sand high areas or joints, use wood shims wedged between joists and the subfloor to raise it. Protruding nails/staples should be ground flat. Build-up low spots with layers of 15 lb builders felt, old vinyl, plywood or shims (do not use cement leveling compounds).")

What is the best advice for a reinforced plywood subfloor that is not totally flat? I had planned on getting Luxury Vinyl Planks but was told that because of some of the dips in the floor that the click seams could break or separate so went back to looking at Bamboo, which I thought wasn't going to be good with the not level floor, but if I can't use the self leveling then I'm not sure what the best option is.

                Thank you!

                  A:

Using self-leveling compound (over plywood) is not recommended for your application.
                  I would suggest;
High spots/joist to be sanded down. Low spots should be cut out and repaired for glue down applications, or may be filled with a build up with 30 lb. black roofing paper for floating applications.
