- Glue or Nail Down
- Premium Finish
- 30 Year Warranty

Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

Had this installed by a contractor in my living and dining room. It looks so rich and the grain is beautiful. The contractor is now going to put this floor in his home. I couldn't be more pleased with my new floors.

we rehabbed our new house with 3500 sqft of this amazing flooring. We put it in every room in the house including the bathrooms and mud room. During the rehab the floor took all the dust, dirt, tools and still looks new. the distressed look makes it ideal so you don't see little scratches or marks.

They look like they have been here for 50 years with a look and feel of reclaimed factory or warehouse floors. I never believed that bamboo could look like this. They are simply gorgeous.

Installed this floor throughout (ripped out every inch of carpet) and so far has been the smartest investment for our home. Easy to maintain, beautiful, makes our home look/feel bigger. With 2 large breed dogs cleaning is now a snap and once the floor is clean you can see it's clean. With the carpet now gone our home "feels" clean.

                        Service and delivery comments:

service was great. product arrived in great condition (didn't find a single damaged board and had very little waste after install) and it arrived FAST.

These floors are beautiful. Their handscraped texture gives them a rustic feel which is perfect for our Mediterranean style home. They seem very durable as I have dropped a few things on them and not left any mark at all. Holy reccomend, they're gorgeous.

Installed this floor in a family room formerly covered with a berber carpet. We have several large dogs. No issues with scratches on the surfaces with these big dogs using the surfaces. Very easy to clean with the moist mop kit! Like this enough that we will install this same flooring in the general living room too. Like the hard hand-scrape surface of this floor.

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.

Our contractor is installing this using an air gun and the 18 ga L nails recommended (we confirmed with the store at the time we picked up the flooring). He is having problems with the nails after going through the tongue, the nails are not going through the OSB subfloor instead they are bending back around to the back of the piece of flooring sometimes coming through. We called the helpdesk and asked for recommendations and did what was recommended but it still happened. Can we try another ga nail, another type of nail, etc. He ended up hand drilling and hammering the rest of the floor in.

Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our solid natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4mm click together product that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.

                                              A:

This is a naildown flooring so T-Molding covering breaks are not necessary. Dime Rows can be considered but not necessarily needed.

When installing large rooms during very dry seasons or regions of the country installers will often create a series of built-in expansions about 1/16” with a technique called a *“Dime row”.

This procedure employs dimes or washer spacers to be inserted every 12” in-between the top tongue edge part of one complete row. Repeat every 10 or 20 rows, after installation these dimes are pulled out. This “built-in” center spacing will allow larger floors needed stress points. The total flooring will settle-in as it normally expands and contracts with the indoor humidity. Ideally this range is between 30%-50% humidity and temperatures of 60˚- 80˚. In time these expansions will even out.

Floating floors over 25'-30' in any direction will usually require a center "T" type expansion. Center expansions are not needed for engineered naildown/gluedown wood floors.

Keep in mind to provide an adequate perimeter expansion for wood floor products. This gap this is normally the thickness of the floor you’re installing. For example when installing a 3/4” thick floor use a 3/4" gap, for a 1/2" thick floor use a 1/2" gap. This gap is very important for the performance of your floor. It not only provides room for expansion but also helps to prevent any side-wicking of moisture into your new flooring.

Yes as it states in the instructions, "Engineered wood and floating floors (floors not attached to the subfloor) are most recommended for radiant heat. However, if you should choose to use solid bamboo for this application be aware that even species with better dimensional stability characteristics cannot predictably be guaranteed to perform well over radiant heat. Therefore, solid bamboo applications over radiant in-floor heat is not recommended nor warrantied. Because of the wide array of in-floor heating systems on the market each with its own features and limitations please consult with your radiant flooring provider for installation methods and application advice."

MORNING STAR Clic flooring can be used in combination with many types of in-floor heating.

                                              1. Follow the instructions from the supplier of the floor heating system.
                                              2. Concrete subfloors must be installed and cured a minimum of 60 days.
                                              3. The heating system must be in operation for at least two weeks before installation to dissipate any residual moisture. During installation, the system may be turned off or set to a suitable installation temperature 60 to 85°F, humidity 35 to55%.
                                              4. Adjust the heating system gradually, the heating surface temperature must not exceed 85°F. Add humidification as needed.

Not recommended. You could reseal prefinished flooring after it is installed, but this would void the finish warranty on the flooring and create extra expense for you after already buying a new floor with a 20, 30, or 50yr finish warranty. Adding a new finish won’t prevent all moisture and dirt from going into the seams. Wood will expand and contract with climate changes. If the flooring were to contract later and create seasonal gapping, a spill can cause water to get into the gaps. It is best to only add a new finish when the old finish starts to wear more than you like or if you have a lot of scratches you want covered up. We recommend that you use a professional sand and finish expert if you did decide to add a new finish to the flooring.
Sweep, dust, or vacuum the floor regularly with a recommended floor attachment (not a beater bar) to prevent accumulation of dirt and grit that can scratch or dull the floor finish. A more frequent dust-mopping or vacuuming schedule may be required in very sandy areas such as a beach home. Thank you for your inquiry.

Bamboo can be re-sanded and have a finish re-applied. It will stage to its original look after it is re-finished. You want specific information and you will need to consult with a professional company/agency who specializes in "sanding" flooring.

Re-finishing bamboo is a challenge to do because as a grassy product  sanding tends to cause the surface  layers to be somewhat fuzzy.  Make sure that the installer chosen for the work is experienced with bamboo products. In addition, hand-scraped such as this requires an abrader drum type of sander (such as FA-8: The Floor Abrader) as traditional sanders with NOT work.
