|
|
Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury. Quick Highlights: Strand To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure. This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty. And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

Had this installed by a contractor in my living and dining room. It looks so rich and the grain is beautiful. The contractor is now going to put this floor in his home. I couldn't be more pleased with my new floors.

we rehabbed our new house with 3500 sqft of this amazing flooring. We put it in every room in the house including the bathrooms and mud room. During the rehab the floor took all the dust, dirt, tools and still looks new. the distressed look makes it ideal so you don't see little scratches or marks.

They look like they have been here for 50 years with a look and feel of reclaimed factory or warehouse floors. I never believed that bamboo could look like this. They are simply gorgeous.

Installed this floor throughout (ripped out every inch of carpet) and so far has been the smartest investment for our home. Easy to maintain, beautiful, makes our home look/feel bigger. With 2 large breed dogs cleaning is now a snap and once the floor is clean you can see it's clean. With the carpet now gone our home "feels" clean.
Service and delivery comments:

These floors are beautiful. Their handscraped texture gives them a rustic feel which is perfect for our Mediterranean style home. They seem very durable as I have dropped a few things on them and not left any mark at all. Holy reccomend, they're gorgeous.

Installed this floor in a family room formerly covered with a berber carpet. We have several large dogs. No issues with scratches on the surfaces with these big dogs using the surfaces. Very easy to clean with the moist mop kit! Like this enough that we will install this same flooring in the general living room too. Like the hard hand-scrape surface of this floor.

Q:
Is this bamboo flooring suitable for installation in an unfinished basement(new construction, basement to be finished after closing)?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Bamboo is not recommended for below-grade or basement applications (unless the Elastilon or EasyFloat underlayment system is used.) Concrete must be cured for a minimum of 90 days and moisture testing is required. See -http://www.lumberliquidators.com/assets/images/installation/morning_star_2.pdfQ:
care and cleaning instructions of strand bamboo??1 answer
A:
We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.Q:
Our contractor is installing this using an air gun and the 18 ga L nails recommended (we confirmed with the store at the time we picked up the flooring). He is having problems with the nails after going through the tongue, the nails are not going through the OSB subfloor instead they are bending back around to the back of the piece of flooring sometimes coming through. We called the helpdesk and asked for recommendations and did what was recommended but it still happened. Can we try another ga nail, another type of nail, etc. He ended up hand drilling and hammering the rest of the floor in.1 answer
A:
Thank you for writing in! I would be glad to help you with your questions.Q:
Is the bamboo flooring suitable for a bathroom installation?1 answer
A:
Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our solid natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4mm click together product that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
How far of a span can there be when installing this product? The width of our room is 42 feet, will a T-molding be needed or can you run the wood the entire length of the room?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This is a naildown flooring so T-Molding covering breaks are not necessary. Dime Rows can be considered but not necessarily needed.Q:
What kind of stain is used on the hand scraped strand bamboo flooring? Is it water based and eco- friendly?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
It's water-based stain and has finish made in Germany.Q:
the bamboo install instructions advise against solid bamboo over radiant heat. Since this is a strand bamboo product does it do better over radiant? If so, which would do better...the solid nail down or the clic floating? Thanks1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes as it states in the instructions, "Engineered wood and floating floors (floors not attached to the subfloor) are most recommended for radiant heat. However, if you should choose to use solid bamboo for this application be aware that even species with better dimensional stability characteristics cannot predictably be guaranteed to perform well over radiant heat. Therefore, solid bamboo applications over radiant in-floor heat is not recommended nor warrantied. Because of the wide array of in-floor heating systems on the market each with its own features and limitations please consult with your radiant flooring provider for installation methods and application advice."Q:
What are the length sizes? Are they random lengths or all the same?1 answer
A:
These planks are just over 6' in length.Q:
the installation was done with ECO 995, do I need to seal the seams, I don't want dirt etc. to fill the cracks from the variance.1 answer
A:
Not recommended. You could reseal prefinished flooring after it is installed, but this would void the finish warranty on the flooring and create extra expense for you after already buying a new floor with a 20, 30, or 50yr finish warranty. Adding a new finish won’t prevent all moisture and dirt from going into the seams. Wood will expand and contract with climate changes. If the flooring were to contract later and create seasonal gapping, a spill can cause water to get into the gaps. It is best to only add a new finish when the old finish starts to wear more than you like or if you have a lot of scratches you want covered up. We recommend that you use a professional sand and finish expert if you did decide to add a new finish to the flooring.Q:
Can this floor be refinished like a wood floor? Or how do you take care of it after it becomes worn looking?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Bamboo can be re-sanded and have a finish re-applied. It will stage to its original look after it is re-finished. You want specific information and you will need to consult with a professional company/agency who specializes in "sanding" flooring.
