Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury.

Quick Highlights:
- Real Bamboo
- Eco-Friendly
- Low Emission Adhesive
- Glue or Nail Down
- Premium Finish
- 30 Year Warranty

Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

We loved the look of this product but was skeptical because we got such a great deal on it. We bought it anyway and our builder laid it for us. He said it was the best product he had ever seen. Very hard and went down well. The bamboo was in great shape with very little waste. We love it! I will include a picture soon.

Beautiful unique/rustic look. After installing 2100 sqft of it in our newly built farmhouse we had some appliance delivery and install(pulling large commercial size fridge/range/dishwasher in and out of its place)Base moulding cut and install...we end up with a few minor scratches. At one of the stores the sales man recommended Old English on them-and WOW its a floor that looks like noone ever even walked on!!!First order was for kitchen/dining/great room/entry.We went back to get it for our mudroom, hallway, office, master bedroom and walk-in closet.Fits our need perfectly and soooo durable.(If you are in Jersey go to the East Brunswick store -you wont regret the travel time!!!)

Had my contractor install and the flooring, was installed improperly. Again, have a flooring expert install your flooring. It cost me an extra $800.00 to have the install flaws fixed by a flooring expert. (recommended by L.L.) Thank you L.L.

Store 278: In April of 2013 we purchased flooring for our lake house. We held off giving a review until we opened the house from being winterized to see how well it upheld. Let me just say we had excellent service to begin with. The sales people were great! Walked us through our decision making on what would be best. The team was very knowledgeable, patient and went beyond and above for us. We had purchase wood floors for most of the 2500 sq ft home including the stairs. We've had other contractors coming and going throughout the house and the floors still look just as new as the day they were installed. It was a big decision to make and are very pleased with the outcome.

Was installed in our master bedroom. Flooring was installed by a private contractor. We were told the material was very hard to cut. Very pleased with the finished product. Extremely satisfied with the products & service from our Oakhurst, NJ LL. We have had these floors for about 6 months and have 3 dogs (2 large, 1 small), so far we have not seen any scratches on any of the flooring. We will continue to consult with LL for our future flooring needs.

I love this flooring, it's so easy to install. It's very hard wood, so you need the right tools to cut it. Be sure to wear gloves there are little pieces of wood that will stick out from the ends that will get you, if your not careful. This isn't on the top of the wood, just on the sides when your handling the pieces to install.

Yes. For general cleaning a swiffer type system works best. Not one that sprays the floor however. Lightly damp is fine but never soak or flood mop your floor. Do not use steam mops. Have a no shoes policy as much as possible. Use felt pads on all furniture. Sweep often.

Bellawood Cleaner works well (use as directed),

In addition, Bona Kemi makes a decent hardwood flooring cleaner.

Do not use oil-type cleaner or wax of any kind.

It also can be glued down with the proper adhesive, the existing ceramic will need to be prepared by grinding off the glazed surface in order for the adhesive to stick.

We are looking at replacing ceramic tile with the Antique Strand hand scraped bamboo. The concrete below the tile does have in-floor heat in the floor. We are replacing the dining room, kitchen, hall way and entry way with the bamboo flooring. Would this type of wood floor allow the in-floor heat to radiate through as easily as the ceramic tile as the in-floor heat is the only source of heat for the entire house?

Unfortunately we cannot recommend our solid bamboo products over radiant heat.
To answer your question a 9/16" Bamboo has an R-value of approx. R-0.48 where as a typical tile & thinset would have an R-value of approx. R-0.30.
You can find complete installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the installation tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.

Both would be covered with the flooring. The living room area, beneath is a basement and has osb decking. I understand I need underlayment for both. Will the bamboo work fine over that basement area?

I am excited to try the Morning Start Bamboo Strand flooring in a motorhome application. I would be glueing it down. One reason I thought I would prefer the Bamboo glued down, versus a floating laminate, is that I would no need expansion gaps around the perimeter and not need qtr moulding. However, I just read the install instructions and apparently you do need an expansion gap around perimeter, is this true? Area would be 7.5 ft wide and 35 ft long.

Yes, bamboo acts much like hardwood flooring in that they expand and contract. Climate in the room installed can effect the flooring. A motorhome is generally subjected to extreme temperature shifts as well as humidity. These floors would not be recommended for such an application. I recommend contacting a coach/camper builder such as Winnebago or Coachman for the best recommendation.
