This trim is 1-19/32" wide and has a 9/16" overhang on both sides. The base tapers slightly and will attach to the U-track provided. 1" gap is necessary between floors to allow for the U-Track and expansion of the flooring. The track fastens to the subfloor and molding is pushed in place from one end to another (like a zip-lock bag).
