About Me Beginner
Redid all the floors in the house, and this product worked great for the stairs into the sunken living room. It worked so well, that we are thinking of doing the stairs & basement in Babmboo as well.
Looks good; different color than floor

I had my contractor put in the matching bamboo floor in my sunken sunroom, and had one step going down to that was just over 6 feet long. The bullnose looks great, however because they aren't in the same batches, it's a good bit lighter than the pieces from my floor that comprise the surface of the step. I'm sure I'm the only one noticing it, but it would be nice if they came from the same batch. Still, I would do it again in a second, gives the step a great finished look. do wish you could buy in shorter than 6 foot lengths as I needed about 6'10".

Beautifull finish gives the room a whole new look

I'm not a do-it-yourselfer at all; I actually haven't seen my stairs except in a photo because I'm Air Force and am at a different location than my home. My adult children report they are beautiful. I had them professionally installed.

Bamboo stair nose

If the groove were flipped and it were a tongue, the install would be better
Biscuit they sell you won't fit
The stair nose works well and improves the look. We used it where there is one step down from the bamboo floor to the adjacent room. You will need to get the joining biscuit if you need to join the female end of your flooring to the stair nose, whose joint side is female. Beware, though--the one they sell DOES NOT FIT into the slots in the flooring or stair nose. When my wife went to return it to get one that fit, they were quite rude to her, and said "we sold you what you asked for," which was not true as we had asked for one that fit. Turns out they don't sell one that fits. By carefully running the biscuit piece through a table saw I was able to make it fit, but one shouldn't have to do that. Also, if you stagger the joints, as you should, half of the floor pieces will have a "neuter" end butting up to the stair nose. I was able to carefully cut a new groove into those ends on the table saw so that all floor pieces were joined to the stair nose. One last thing: I thought the stair nose needed to be secured to the subfloor more securely, so I put in countersunk screws and filled the holes with plugs I made from scrap using a plug cutter. By carefully aligning the grain lines and installing til just flush the plugs can be made to be nearly invisible. All in all it was a difficult and complicated process but the end result is good.

Morning Star Bamboo Flooring
from Middlebury, Vermont
I installed the Bamboo Flooring in our new Log Home In every room except Kitchen & bathrooms I wanted to put in Maple Flooring at first but while at the store looking at flooring I decided to put in Bamboo. It has a very hard finish and was easy to install. It has a very nice feel to it. Bamboo is actually grass but I consider the look and feel just as good as wood flooring. This was my first floor I ever installed and the comments keep coming on how nice it looks.
