You get what you pay for

By Unhappy customer

from St. Albans WV

Pros

  • cheap

Cons

  • Poorly selected grain pattern

Best Uses

There were 4 distinct grain patterns that showed up on most pieces. Made it impossible to lay the tile in a manner where the repeating grain patterns weren't obvious. Would it have been so difficult as to include a wider variety of grain patterns? They should have also not included such a limited number of bold and distinct grain markings. I actually had named for several of them, oval, spear, oil lamp, etc. I spent far more time trying to select the appropriate piece so as to not match an adjacent or nearby piece as I did actually snapping the floor together. Cutting straight across the strips are easy, but cutting out any sort of angle is a pain in the butt.

Love this in master bedroom and bath

    By pearlz

    from Fleming Island, FL

    Verified Reviewer

My house has a large master bedroom and bath. However, the carpet in the bedroom was gross and the bath had yucky vinyl. I searched a lot and settled on Lumber Liquidators 4MM Black Mountain vinyl plank. It turned out aweseom! The vinyl can handle small amounts of water from getting in and out of the shower. If ever there is a flood it can be unclicked, dried and put down again. 50 year warrantee! My installer had no problem. My 2 pomeranians have not damaged it. One was a puppy, so there were piddles etc. that wiped up easily and left no mark. It is not cold like tile. (My house is on a slab.) Very pleased.

    Excellent Product

    By Number 2

    Pros

    • Easy To Install

    Cons

      Best Uses

Great floor with great warranty. Put this in our kids bedroom and it looks great. Wife wants to do the rest of the house. Easy to install with a little common sense. Yes they are a little hard to "click" together. Do you want the flooring to come apart. This was the first vinyl floor I laid and I did it in just about 3 3/4 hrs. The guy in at the store said it would take about 3. I am happy with the product and the salesman at the store were very easy to work with. Did not try and push me into any tools or extras I did not need. Even got the product to me a week before they said they would.

Great, inexpensive facelift for our dental practice.

        Cons

          Best Uses

          • any room

We wanted a quick, inexpensive alternative to the ugly, vinyl, wax floors in our dental practice. We needed something durable that could handle heavy chairs being rolled around on it as well as the occasional water spill. We didn't want to close the practice for a remodel so we were thrilled when the installers said they could do all 5 of our operatories plus a bathroom in a weekend. I was skeptical but they got it done in 2 days and we were open and seeing patients on Monday.

          Service and delivery comments:

The staff at Lumber Liquidators were very helpful and the communication was great. The flooring was delivered as promised.

Installed in a rental 1 year ago

          By DIY Rental Owner

          from Oakland, CA

We installed this in a rental one year ago, including the kitchen area. We wanted vinyl since it withstands moisture better than most laminate products. The light color has worked out, and the tenant has been very pleased with the floor. We had a couple of planks separate but that was easily corrected, and frankly caused by a lapse by the installer. We have just purchased the same product for two more units. Will update in another year.

          Service and delivery comments:

The first time took about 8 days to deliver. Recent purchase was picked up from our local store the day after the order was made. However, we didn't need coving or wall base molding since this is a renovation, so that saved a lot of time.

          Pros

          • Does Not Show Dirt Easily
          • Great wood pattern.

          Cons

            Best Uses

I removed my carpet and remodeled my entire house with the Black Mountain Maple vinyl flooring. I also used the LVT underlayment. My floor is uneven which made tile and laminate more difficult. My family and friends love the wood design. I also have a large dog and child. This floor allows for easy clean up. It's also better than carpet since my daughter and I have seasonal allergies. Only time will tell how well it holds up.

This floor looks great and is very easy to install, just score where you need to cut off with a utility knife and snap the piece off. Clicked and locked into place very well even over our very un-even subfloor. It's actually a little darker colored that the sample on the website.

                  • Every where

We used this product throughout our house except for the bathrooms and Master bedroom. We love the appearance. It has a nice wood look. The only negative I've noticed is the finish. We chose the duller finish thinking it would hide dirt more since we have two dogs, but it actually shows everything. We do have a lot of natural light that comes in our main dining/living room area, and that is where I really notice it. Otherwise, it's great.

We found that the "planks" could be worked both forward and backward which is a plus. Nowhere in the directions does it say that and I couldn't find it online. It took us six weeks to complete 6 rooms with a small hallway due to work schedules, so we worked it room by room. It probably could have been done in a weeks vacation (or a couple days by a professional). We had no prior experience. The most difficult part was ripping out the kitchen/laundry room floor. It is also tricky working the pieces around door moldings and such.

                      A:

This flooring has temperature requirements that may not hold up in a motorhome. For best performance, maintain room temperature of 55°F- 95°F. ideally 65°F-75°F. Excess cold or heat can affect tightness of floor seams.

In addition, floating floors may shift in a moving vehicle. I recommend contacting a coach/camper manufacturer.
