We purchased this flooring to replace carpet in our living room and hallway. For the price, I think it is good quality. However, with two small kids and a dog in the house, it is hard to keep clean. Every little speck of dust or dirt shows, so I sweep 2-3 times a day and mop at least once. We were told it would be very hard to scratch or nick, we've had it for three months and it has two very noticeable scratches. One from my 5 year old dropping a toy and no idea what caused the other. So would I use again? In a bedroom yes, but not in the main living area of the house. I would have spent more money and went with a better product. For anyone considering going with flooring that is a darker color such as this, please know that if you have kids or animals it will keep you on your toes trying to keep it clean. It does look really pretty when it is clean I will say. But I would have went with a lighter color had I known just how hard it is to keep it looking good.

I laid it over concrete in one room and over subfloor in three bedrooms. Fantastic color, easy to install, low waste and versatile for all of the uses. With the texture and the beveling, it definitely looks like real wood but is far more easy to care for.

We have installed this in our 1/2 sub-basement family room. It went down very easy and had no wasted boards except what we cut-off. I will be returning the 2 boxes I bought as overage, because it was not necessary. It looks like it could be engineered wood to me. It appears it will be able to take a beating, as it seems to be made with great quality.

Q:
Is this a good product for usage in a kitchen?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Hardwood, engineered, laminate (higher warranty laminate like THIS flooring is better in high traffic areas like kitchens), vinyl plank, cork, and high warranty bamboo (Morning Star) is acceptable for installation in a kitchen, but we highly recommend you put a throw rug by the sink because an excess of water can damage any floor. Like hardwood flooring, spills should be toweled dry promptly.Q:
Would you recommend this product in a low useage basement bath?1 answer
A:
Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our solid natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4mm click together product that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
What is the AC rating. What is a good number for a residential floor?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The common term used to denote the durability level of laminate flooring is its, Abrasion Criteria or “AC” rating. AC ratings are an abbreviated representation of a laminate’s overlay film resistance to abrasion, impact, stains and cigarette burns. The ratings also indicate that the product has been tested for the effects of furniture legs, castors, and swelling along its edges. When a laminate flooring product has a rating, then it has passed all of the test criteria. Failing just one test will disqualify a product.Q:
how long are the laminate flooring pieces?1 answer
A:
Each plank is 6.1" wide x 47.64" long.Q:
I am thinking about purchasing this for 2 rooms (327 SQ FT). Do I need to allow room for expansion when laying the laminate. If so, how much and how long will it take if it will expand.1 answer
A:
You can find complete installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the specs tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.pdfQ:
Can I install this floor over 1/4" cork padding?1 answer
A:
Yes you can!Q:
I have a old house that the floors aren't level any more because of settling over the years. Can I still use laminate flooring on my floors1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Subfloors need to be flat and level for any floor. Floating laminate or Quick Click Engineered subfloor needs to be very flat and level with no more than 3/16" in 10' variance. Some leveling compounds can be used on wood subfloor; check manufacturers information before using. Other options are Sand high areas or joints, use wood shims wedged between joists and the subfloor to raise it. Protruding nails/staples should be ground flat.Q:
when entering the front door should it be running north to south or east to west1 answer
A:
This a matter of choice, either way is acceptable.Q:
I wish to install on a basement concrete floor that is already covered in a one-piece vinyl flooring. Do I need to use an underlayment on top of the vinyl flooring before I install the laminate?1 answer
A:
Additional padding is not needed but you may want to use our 6 mil poly moisture barrier to protect the new laminate from excess moisture.Q:
I want to put laminate flooring over concrete a section has 1/8 inch tile can I just go over that little difference1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Floating laminate or Quick Click Engineered subfloor needs to be very flat and level with no more than 3/16" in 10' variance. You may be able to ramp up to it with concrete leveler compound so as to have a gradual incline.
