  • Q:

I just picked up some flooring by Dream Home 8mm Angle Fire Cherry Laminate. We are going to do our stairs and I was wondering about the stair nose and where they come into the process when doing the stairs. I purchased enough laminate to lay the stairs. Do we use a stair nose for each step?

      A:

flooring. However, laminate flooring and nosing isn't a great idea for stairs, fine for one or two steps but we caution the use of it on an entire staircase. People do it but it can be unsafe. Check your local building codes.  Hardwood flooring and nosing works great, when laminate IS used you must fully glue will 100% urethane adhesive without the use of padding, padding attached laminate must have paddling scraped off.
