Wood floors and water don't mix. But, Schön Engineered Floors are a perfect match for all areas of the home including those with a higher moisture content like: basements, bathrooms, kitchens, concrete sub-floors, and below grade installation. Quick Highlights: This product is also a good choice for installation over radiant heat sources and below grade applications. Comments about Schön 1/2" x 5" Brazilian Cherry Engineered:
Great look at a great price. Had it professionally installed in all rooms including the kitchen (1900sq ft). Replaced carpet. Wife and I are more than pleased with it's color and warmth.
Comments about Schön 1/2" x 5" Brazilian Cherry Engineered:
I ordered 800 sq ft to install in the my living room , dining room and kitchen. I started in the kitchen and open four boxes. All four had four seven foot pieces, a couple of four foot pieces and numerous two and three foot pieces. All the while I was wishing I had more four footers. When I got to the living room a few days later I open six straight boxes that had a numerous four foot and 18 inch pieces in place of the two and three footers. I wish I knew this before I started I would of kept opening boxes so I had a good mix of pieces to properly stagger the joints. There is no indication on the boxes listing the piece sizes.
I also tried to limit the number of light colored pieces or placed them in areas to be covered by a rug or furniture in order to have a more uniform appearance.

Comments about Schön 1/2" x 5" Brazilian Cherry Engineered:
Although beautiful finish, there is too much color variation (not the average color variation that makes it beautiful, but from red to black! Also it scratches easily, even with all the precautions such as felt pads in furniture, etc

Comments about Schön 1/2" x 5" Brazilian Cherry Engineered:
I replaced the old carpet with new brazillian Cherry Engineer wood for my bedrooms and Office a year ago. The color does not look darker after a year like the spec said. It looks beautiful if you take a good care. Make sure ot buy a right cleanning product. So far we had a couple scratches when my kids drop their toys. I would choose the high quality laminate next time.

As long as you know to expect board to board color variations you will like the end result of this product's installed look.

Comments about Schön 1/2" x 5" Brazilian Cherry Engineered:
Bought and installed one year ago. Loved them at first but after a couple of months I had to start "hands and knees" washing to get them to look good at all. I still love the color but the finish scratches easily and it never looks clean. I wish I would have gone with actual hard wood, maybe next time.

Comments about Schön 1/2" x 5" Brazilian Cherry Engineered:
I actually had this installed by a LL contractor, so I can't speak to installation ease.
It looks beautiful, even though it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. There is definitely a lot of variation in the wood, but I get compliments on that.
I have only had it installed 2 weeks, but the very first day I dropped a small 12-14" fire extinguisher from about 7 feet up on my steps, and it didn't ding the wood at all. I have pads on the bottom of all of my furniture, so no damage there. My cat and dog run around all over it, and I see no signs of scratching.
I will update if the performance goes down with time.
Totally worth the money.

I have this flooring and have been sweeping daily and vacuuming weekly and using swiffer wet cloths to mop monthly - I have noticed that the swiffer wet cloths are streaking the floors. How should I mop these floors?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
For general cleaning a swiffer type system works best, be sure to clean swiffer occasionally or you may get streaks. Not one that sprays the floor however. Lightly damp is fine but never soak or flood mop your floor. Do not use steam mops. Do not use regular cleaning products, water damp mops are fine. Have a no shoes policy as much as possible. Use felt pads on all furniture. Sweep often.Q:
