Wood floors and water don't mix. But, Schön Engineered Floors are a perfect match for all areas of the home including those with a higher moisture content like: basements, bathrooms, kitchens, concrete sub-floors, and below grade installation. Quick Highlights: This product is also a good choice for installation over radiant heat sources and below grade applications. About Brazilian Cherry: About Engineered Flooring: Don't forget the molding and stair treads! Lumber Liquidator$

Comments about Schön Engineered 5/16" x 4" Brazilian Cherry Engineered:
Installation of the flooring was fairly easy, however, there tends to be a bit of excess manufacturing debris or flakes of the structural material that if not removed will interfere with creating a seamless joint. However, once this is removed, the product goes down well. It seems to wear reasonably well. Looking forward to seeing how it holds up. It certainly is beautiful once installed.

Comments about Schön Engineered 5/16" x 4" Brazilian Cherry Engineered:
I put this flooring in a condo on the Alabama coast about a year ago. It makes a beautiful floor with a lot of color variation. It was installed over an above grade concrete slab and glued down with a water clean up urethane. The only problem has been the darkening of the color from the sun. We had a rug over part of the floor and after 2 or 3 months discovered the floor was lighter under the rug. We started removing the rug when we were not at the condo and the floor is now almost uniform. Soon after the floor was installed, the washing machine drain overflowed and got one corner of the floor very wet, however, it dried out and did not de-laminate or buckle. I plan to replace the carpet in the bedroom with this same product

Comments about Schön Engineered 5/16" x 4" Brazilian Cherry Engineered:
Inconsistent color. Some pieces has small off white round spots. The dark finish scratches easily. Dents with any push or roll of chair leg/wheel. We had to temporarily set a small refrigerator on the floor covered with layers of card board but it left grooves on the surface. Best not to wear shoes on it. Looks fine in a very light traffic area. Must be very careful in practical use.

Comments about Schön Engineered 5/16" x 4" Brazilian Cherry Engineered:
I hired professional installers. I researched the product - extremely hard wood and very stable. My installers had a hard time installing because of the thinness of the product. I sat in an office chair - I am a small person - within minutes there were dents all around and under my chair!!! I put an area rug over those dents, but more dents have occurred and I'm very dissapointed. I have to be soooo careful! I didn't expect to have to be so careful with such a hard wood.

CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Apologies no. Our Underlayment does. Eco Silent Sound or Bellawood Premium Underlayment STC information can be found in our Flooring 101 section - www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/flooring/Flooring101Q:
How thick is the top layer of this product? I have read that if it's over 2 mm it can be refinished several times, adding longer life to the floor.1 answer
A:
This engineered floor has a .6mm veneer wear layer. Thank you for writing in.Q:
I plan to use this in a dining room with a very large 14-person table that will exert a lot of force on its four leg posts. Will I run into issues with the boards flexing or breaking glue joints with installed with a floating method? What underlayment do you recommend?1 answer
A:
It's hard to say for sure, but pool tables are used over floating floors all the time without any issues. I would recommend one of our heavier dense pads such as Bellawood premium.Q:
I will be spanning this flooring in one continous run over a wooden subfloor and a concrete slab to create one seamless floor. Do you recommend a floating or glue-down installation?1 answer
A:
I would recommend a glue down application as floating installs require T-molding break point at 30' intervals.Q:
I read on your Q/A that you use paint thinner to remove the glue and it had killed the factory finish, another that after 2 years the finish was all very dull. I this something I should worry about on this particular wood?1 answer
A:
You can find complete installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the specs tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.pdfQ:
