Virginia Mill Works Co.- 1/2" x 5" Brazilian Cherry Prefinished Handscraped Engineered Flooring- 30 Year Warranty

The only handscraped natural Brazlian Cherry in the WHOLE STORE! The look of Brazilian Cherry handscraped brings the beautiful look of the floor and the old world feel of handscraped together!

Colonial American homes were built with wooden floors that were sawn using basic hand-held tools. The hand-crafted workmanship that went into those floors can be found in Virginia Millworks handscraped floors.

Glue installation, Natural grade
About Handscraped Flooring:
Handscraped or distressed hardwood floors have a natural worn appearance. They look like floors from the days when floors were finished by hand.

About Engineered:
Hardwood veneer layers are stacked on one another, with the grain of the adjacent layers oriented perpendicular to each other.
Because wood expands and contracts in the direction of the grain, one layer stabilizes the next, resulting in a product that is less susceptible to the effects of moisture & temperature change.

Please allow us to assist you with any questions and/or concerns.

  • Q:

I am putting wood floors in a home we're about to sell, so we don't want to spend as much as if it were for us. I have honey oak cabinets/builtins. I'm looking for a flooring that has dark and light shades, to blend with the honey cabinets. This looks like it has that, but I'm not absolutely sure. Does it seem that way to you?

Because computer monitors can vary in color reproduction I recommend ordering samples or visit your local Lumber Liquidators.

Click this link for the store locator

Order samples and get a full credit on your future flooring order.

Purchasing samples is a great way to compare the many fantastic flooring choices available at Lumber Liquidators—and it's so easy!

      1. Find the flooring you're interested in by clicking on a category or using our Floor Finder on the home page.

      2. When you find a particular floor, just click on the "Add Sample" text. On the right of your screen, you'll see a swatch of that flooring. That means it's in your shopping cart.

      3. You can get up to three samples for $10, with every additional sample costing just $1—and shipping is FREE.

      4. Simply check out. Upon purchase, we'll send an e-mail with your "Samples Credit" equal to the total dollar amount of your samples purchase, redeemable with any future purchase.

Note: expedited samples shipping fee is not refundable and will not be added to the "Samples Credit."

  • Q:

What is the janka rating of this floor?
Asked on 10/20/2012 by Nick from California

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

Engineered Hardwoods are not tested using the Janka Scale.

The Janka scale chart is not to be considered an absolute; it is designed to help people understand which woods are harder than others.
The Janka Hardness test is done in accordance with ASTM D 1037-7 testing methods. Lumber stocks tested ranges from 1" to 2" thick. (Resulting Jank Hardness Numbers are an average.) It important to note no testing is done on flooring.
The Janka hardness test measures the resistance of a type of wood to withstand denting and wear. It measures the force required to embed an 11.28 mm (0.444 in) steel ball into wood to half the ball's diameter. This method leaves an indentation. A common use of Janka hardness ratings is to determine whether a species of wood is suitable for use as flooring.

  • Q:

I'm sure that you do testing on your products before you put them out there for sale to your customers so as this product hasn't been rated by the public yet, I have to ask you: does this particular product scratch or dent easily? Need to know as we have two larger dogs. I'm really interested and have a lot of square feet to cover at a great cost so I'm trying to do my due-diligence. PS, please answer by email and not have me call in.
