Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Brazilian Cherry:
we havent poly'ed it yet but many pieces are significantly lighter then i expected. i am worried it will not be the cherry look i was hoping for. my installer was also not happy with the planks being very small.

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Brazilian Cherry:
Order at least 10-15% more that you need. Lots of small (1 foot pieces) and some with black marks or significant color or grain changes that means some of the material is wasted.

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Brazilian Cherry:
We had this flooring installed in 2,000 sq.ft of our 2,400 sq. ft home in July. It looks absolutely beautiful and we've gotten a lot of compliments on it. However, apparently none of the reviewers of this product have children. True the floor does not scratch from shoes or dog claws, but it DOES DENT EASILY. We have a 5 and 8 year old, and yes, children do occasionally drop toys by accident. Unfortunately we can see every place where one (no sharp, metal or heavy toys- plastic ) has been dropped since removing all the carpet from our home. My sister and parents both have wood floors throughout their homes. I dropped a bottle of beer on my sister's floor this summer- not even a scratch- I would hate to think what our floors would have looked like after that! My parents have floors that are 40 yrs old and do not look the way ours does in areas. It sickens me that we invested so much money into our floors, and just 3 1/2 mos later I'm already thinking about having to save money for something I thought would last 20 years!

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Brazilian Cherry:
We had this wood flooring installed and finished (matte oil-based polyurethane) in the entire first floor of our home. It's been down for about nine months ago now and still looks dynamite. The wood seems to be very high quality, with a nice mix of colors and grains. In fact, the installer commented on how nice it was. It's darkening as expected into a much deeper, redder hue, and the color differences are becoming more pronounced. If you want your floor to be one consistent color then don't buy this wood, but if you like the natural variation in Brazilian Cherry (which we do) then this is great stuff. We're very pleased and would do it again in a heartbeat.

What sealer / finish is recommended? RE: the comment from the lady from TX who complained about the dents in her Brazillian hardwood floors - was it an issue with the seal / finish coat?1 answer
A:
For best advice on a finish to choose for your flooring you should contact a sand and finish expert or a floor finish manufacture. Dents and scratches can occur with any wood flooring no matter what finish is on the product, but dents and scratches can be repaired. Brazilian Cherry wood can work great in a kitchen application as long as it is maintained well.
