Comments about BELLAWOOD 5/16" x 3" Brazilian Cherry Select:
The carpenter that installed these bought the recommended tool and found that nailing was a no go. He thought it was due to how hard the wood is and he ended up giving up and using glue.
I bought the thinner wood to preserve as much ceiling height and and he felt that the thicker product with the standard tool would have been fine.
That said they are beautiful, I have used the thicker product in another location and it has held up to dog nails etremely well. Don't panic right out of the box these floors are quite light but darken up once installed.

Looks good. Be sure to have good blades on the saw as this wood is 'hard' wood.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 5/16" x 3" Brazilian Cherry Select:
Easy installation with the stapler.I bought an odd lot for half the price, so 10-15 % of the boards had defects and went to the closets or the trash, but that was expected. The wood is fotosensitive, darkens with age, which gives it more character, but will lead to tone borders under the rugs, furniture, ect.., so you may need to move them a few inches once in a while to expose covered parts to the light to allow softer transition of the tones. Great looking floors!!!

Installed it upstairs using nail down method. Small changes in plywood level makes the floor creek and crack. This would not happen if the product was just a bit thicker. Or had we glued it down, not nail down.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 5/16" x 3" Brazilian Cherry Select:
This was the first time I installed hardwood flooring myself. I have installed a laminate floating floor before, so I had some idea what I was doing. It went together easily and looks great. I did get a little bit of warpage in a couple of boards, but I blame that on my installation and not the product. I will be buying more to do other rooms in my house.

Q:
Is the finish on this floor a polyurethane finish?1 answer
A:
Our Bellawood floors are factory pre-finished with an aluminum oxide water-base urethane using a multi-step application process. (8) coats are applied to most domestic and exotic wood species and each coat is hard-cured using Ultraviolet (UV) light. Bellawood pre-finished flooring offers superior wear resistance and is backed by a limited 100-year warranty! (The exact formula is propietary information) The formula for the Bellawood finish is a custom mix that has a 50/50 gloss. The sheen you get is shinier than satin, but not as shiny as semi -gloss.Q:
1. How many times can this product be refinished?1 answer
A:
Full refinishing will take slightly under a 1/32” off the veneer of the wood flooring. The thickness of the veneer and how much wear and dents a floor has will determine how many times it can be refinished. Low profile solid wood flooring like 5/16” thick flooring may be able to be refinished twice if the flooring is in good shape. We recommend that hardwood floor refinishing be done by a professional and if your not sure if you can refinish your flooring have professional sand and finish expert come to your home and evaluate your flooring.Q:
Can this floor be floated, only glueing the but joints using Elastlon self adheSive underlayment?1 answer
A:
Not recommended, I would recommend using a thicker heavier wood product with Elastilon.Q:
