Wood floors and water don't mix. But, Schön Engineered Floors are a perfect match for all areas of the home including those with a higher moisture content like: basements, bathrooms, kitchens, concrete sub-floors, and below grade installation. Quick Highlights: This product is also a good choice for installation over radiant heat sources and below grade applications. About Brazilian Koa: About Engineered Flooring: Did you know?

Comments about Schön 1/2" x 5" Brazilian Koa Engineered:
This wood is installed in the entire downstairs of our home. Because it is engineered wood, must be careful not to let water sit on it. I have solved this problem by putting runners in the kitchen below the sink and dishwasher.
Love, love, love the variation of colors in this product. Almost reminds me of "reclaimed wood". Have put felt fabric on the bottom of chairs, tables, etc. to keep from scratching the floors (can buy this at Costco). However because of the color variations, scratches won't be as noticeable.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was prompt and product arrived in good condition.
The only problem I had with customer service was they wanted us to buy their glue (an additional $3,000 for 1500 square foot). I got the wood during a sale so realized they were making up for the cost of the wood by charging way too much for the glue. I was told that the warranty would not apply if I didn't use this specific glue. After researching this I found that lumber liquidators doesn't warrany the wood but the manufacturer does. So, I used a professional installer who supplied the glue at a much cheaper cost.

This is my 3rd flooring purchase from LL. Everything I have boaght from them has met my expectations, and has held up well over the years. The only place you need to go if you want a wood floor.
Service and delivery comments:
First of all, I love the fact that LL doesn't do any high-pressure upselling. You can choose whatever you want, and you won't be made to feel bad if you choose the less expensive product.
On my first two purchases, I did the install myself (no sweat - they provide all the guidance you need). On this purchase, I used the LL-affiliated installers. They came when they said they would, did a meticulous job, and I'm a happy camper.

This flooring is easy to install, easy to maintain and looks so amazing you almost don't want to walk on it. It's Pure art! We did our living room a hallway and will be putting it in the office...would love to put it in the bedrooms as well.
I have a large dog and several cats...no scratches, no dents. Awesome product I WILL use this again in my next home!!!

This is the second bedroom that we have installed this floor in. We really like the product and the service from our Lumber Liquidators store (now in West Palm Beach) is outstanding.

Used this product on a concrete slab, so we had to use glue. It was a messy job, but beautiful and very solid when we finished. Variation of colors in the wood are gorgeous. Haven't had long enough to judge its endurance.

Comments about Schön 1/2" x 5" Brazilian Koa Engineered:
Installed in finished basement on concrete with new mapae overlay subfloor. Installers seemed to find it a little difficult to install due to not perfectly level floor and wide, tight planks. But they made it work, and it looks great! The wide 5" board relates well to the rest of the house, which is old wide pine plank floors.

Comments about Schön 1/2" x 5" Brazilian Koa Engineered:
We placed this in all rooms except 1bedroom and bathrooms/laundry. It is absolutely beautiful, and everyone loves it! We love the feel and the look. We have dented it a few times ( dropped heavy items, hammer...etc) but I run a stain pen over the area and you can't even find the dent again, without really searching. It is wood, and we expect a few dents and dings, but we are not going to sweat it. We have a terrier and he has not scratched finish yet. We would definitely purchase again. Had it installed professionally, they approved installer did a job! Very pleased.

Q:
It states that it can be used in bathrooms... but can it really hold up in bathrooms? If it can, can the quick click do the same thing?1 answer
A:
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.Q:
I was told by a LL sales associate that the brazilian koa has an aluminum oxide surface, and that all cleaners are not compatible with this surface. Can you tell me what kind of cleaners to avoid? And what kind of cleaners are compatible with the Al Oxide surface (other than your in-store brand)?1 answer
A:
We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.Q:

I have installed this flooring in my home and am at a point where more than sweeping is required. All my online research gives a big thumbs down to steam cleaning. What do you recommend for a deep clean of this flooring?1 answer
A:
We do not recommend steam mops or Roomba Scooba robots on our laminates or on any of our wood floor products. Although appropriate for kitchen sheet vinyl or ceramic tiles, wood, laminate and cork floorings have raw seam edges that can swell or cup with use of these cleaning methods. We recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:

Note that joist spacing determines minimum subfloor thickness.Q:
