Give your floors a REAL WOOD look and feel with St. James Collection!

St. James Collection by Dream Home - 12mm Brazilian Koa High Gloss Laminate Flooring- 30 Year Warranty

With a variety of 12mm V groove laminate options, from a high gloss to a warm low gloss finish, and with deep, warm to medium hues, this spectacular flooring makes a stunning floor!
St. James offers a regal alternative. The V groove makes it a snap to install and the random lengths give your floors a real wood look and feel.
At 12mm, the St. James Collection is very durable and comes with a 30 year warranty!

Quick Installation Tips:
- Store flooring flat for 48 hours in its original packaging at room temperature.
- Must be installed over a clean, stable, flat, smooth, and dry surface.
- Moisture barrier is required for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

St. James Collection's Advantages:
- No glue and no nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- 3mm (1/8") pre-glued underlayment included
- AC Rating: 3
- 30 Year Warranty

Pros

  • Easy to clean
  • Easy To Install
  • Kid And Pet Proof
  • Retains It's Shine

Cons

  • Needs frequent cleaning
  • Shows every footprint

Best Uses

  • High traffic areas

We installed this flooring in February of 2011. We have 5 children and 2 adults in the home. This floor looks as good today as it did the day we installed it. It is virtually scratch resistant. There isn't a mark on it anywhere. I would install this floor again in my next house.

Replaced 1600 sq. ft. of flooring in my house. The finished job looks great. Unfortunately I had to exchange two full boxes of the laminate due to bubbles in the finish. Lumber Liquidators replaced the defective product without any problems.

My contractors put this floor in for us. They got it done in a day, so I can't really say how difficult it is to install. They did comment that they thought the underlayment was a bit cumbersome. It looks pretty good, but based on research you can't get this floor wet at all. I use Bona laminate cleaner from Lowes. I was hesitant with the variations in the floor as the sample didn't reflect it, but everyone has given us great compliments.

              Difficult to snap together

              from Shady Side, MD

              Pros

                Cons

                  Best Uses

This floor is a very good color and grain match to the 3/4" nail down Brazilian Koa that we have throughout our house and halls that this flooring was to butt up to. Over the years we have installed many different types of laminate flooring with no problem, so we tried this because of the near perfect match...a big mistake. The product is far from easy to put down without a significant amount of pounding and damage to get the pieces to fit together tightly, they do NOT "snap together" easily as led to believe, and definitely not like any others we have ever put down in the past. This product is made of a single type composite material under the laminate surface that will swell if it gets wet or damp. The product was NOT wet or damp, and it sat at room temp for more than two weeks. The reason it does NOT go together easily is because of it's composite nature, it's not firm, rigid, or smooth like that of other types that use pieces of wood that have hard edges all around. Due to the amount of pounding needed to get the pieces to fit tightly both the tongue and grooved edges become damaged and are then not able to be used resulting in a large amount of waste. Also when pounding the edges together we used a rubber mallet and another piece of wood against the edge being pounded to protect the piece being pounded for tightening, and the laminate edges would lift resulting in it having to be removed. We feel that this product is very cheaply made, and is not the quality that we had thought it would be. I purchased extra for a couple of closets that we had planned to do and ended up using that to finish the job. We hope that it will last for a couple of years.

This is truly a beautiful floor....until you actually step on it and start using it...and then you see that it is virtually impossible to keep clean. This floor shows EVERYTHING...including my dog's dry paw prints. I read so many reviews before making this purchase but did not truly realize how "messy" our floor would look all the time. I am by no means a neat freak but I am so disappointed in this floor. We really saved up until we could afford to replace our downstairs flooring and I am so bummed. I would NOT recommend this floor to anyone..unless you have time to wipe down your entire floor several times a day....sorry :(

                          Best Uses

Didn't realize it had 3 sizes(short, medium and long). But it turns out to be a real bonus to cut (using the short or medium), especially for tight corner.
No defect on the order, lucky!
Love the high gloss in the living room, feels like expensive real hardwood gloss and durability.
Wish it had smaller groove (between boards) compare to my last floor.

I have now had this floor for a year. We did the entire 1st floor. They look beautiful!! I have a love hate relationship with the floor. I have 2 kids and a 160 pound great dane....also have NO SCRATCHES!! It is very sensitive to moisture. If something spills and not cleaned up quickly it will expand the planks of flooring. Also in winter the planks shrink and have gaps. Come summer time it goes back together. (i need a humidifier). The floors do show every little piece of anything. Over all we do love the floors.

We used this to replace existing laminate. After seeing the Brazilian Koa installed, I wish we had done the whole house in this! I LOVE the look of this flooring. It's too soon to say if we have any cons. We do have dogs, so I hope it holds up well. We have friends with the exact same flooring & they have dogs too. They say it's holding up well, so I expect the same. Excellent customer service!

Before installing our floor what is the maximum height recommended if you have an uneven floor to know if we should level it out first? We may also install the noise padding which we thought would help with the uneven floor.

Minor chip or scratch damage to a laminate plank can be repaired with laminate repair kits and color-matched silicon/latex fillers. If the damaged area is larger than ½” of an inch, a professional can replace an entire plank.

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.Thank you for your inquiry.

I saw conflicting answers on a previous question of using this flooring in bathrooms. We wanted to install the same flooring in our bathroom and laundry room. I've heard conflicting advice from friends on this topic as well. We will be purchasing very soon (next week) so am highly interested in what is recommended. I would love tile but my husband doesn't like it (too cold) and I don't want linoleum.

Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our solid natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4 and 5mm click together products that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern.

Did anyone use an additional underlayment (padding, noise barrier)? We really do not want that hollow sound that comes with many laminates. Our floors will be installed over a concrete slab. We plan to use a vapor/moisture barrier. With the pre-attached underlayment/padding + the product is already 12mm, maybe others have found that no additional layers are necessary?

Laminates having pre-attached padding can be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

                                    A:

Our wood floors are manufactured for maximum durability, easy maintenance and finished with a high quality aluminum oxide water base urethane UV cured finish. This step protects the wood and helps keep the flooring looking beautiful longer. While highly durable, the finish is NOT considered indestructible. However, by observing a few precautions like setting up a regular cleaning routine and simple maintenance program to protect the finish, you can expect years of performance and beauty from your wood floor. All wood floors can show signs of wear over time. There are many factors that can affect the amount of wear. These include the size and lifestyle of your family and product location.
                                    The following cleaning principles are recommended for all of our products -Hardwood, Laminates, Corks, Bamboo and other Exotics. Outlined are examples of the reasonable and necessary maintenance to be performed; this is only intended to be a basic list;
                                    • Immediately after installation, be certain that the flooring is completely cleaned and dry as described below. If you must protect the flooring from traffic, use only “craft” paper, brown, red or white, this will allow the flooring to “breathe”. Do not fully cover the flooring. NEVER lay plastic of any kind or any other non-porous material over the flooring as this can trap moisture, harm the flooring or fade the finish.
                                    • Sweep or vacuum regularly, since built-up dirt, grit and sand can damage the surface of the wood. If using a vacuum, use a soft brush attachment -NOT A BEATER BAR ATTACHMENT. Be certain the wheels of the vacuum are clean and do not damage the finish. When using a broom be certain that bristles are soft. You can also use a dry mop.
                                    • Because of the myriad of cleaning products available and methods of each application, Lumber Liquidators cannot endorse or oversee the use of any Brand Name of floor cleaner. We do recommend cleaning products safe for urethane finishes such as our Bellawood floor cleaner.
                                    • The use of a changeable terry cloth type system to clean the floor is highly recommended; apply cleaning solution to the terry cloth not the floor.
                                    • NEVER use oil soaps, liquid, or paste wax products or other household cleaners that contain lemon oil, Tung oil, silicone, or ammonia on pre-finished flooring. The use of these products will harm the long-term performance and appearance of your floor and may affect future re-coating. (Damages caused by non-recommended cleaning products are not covered by warranties). NOTE: This also includes the use of vinegar and water solutions as water can damage wood. Vinegar is an acidic element that can have an oxidizing, caustic effect on the finish.
                                    • In an effort to clean hardwood floors, many have experimented with a variety of cleaners on the market and end up with a new problem. “How to remove the build-up of cleaning products revealing the original surface"? If this is the case with you, we recommend consulting with a professional cleaner local to your area because they can best see the details involved and make the most accurate recommendations. If you choose to remove the layers of build-up yourself, use cotton rags instead of a mop to control the amount of liquid used.
                                    • NEVER wet-mop, damp-mop, swab or flood your floor with water or any other product. Moisture can seep into the seams causing edge-cupping damage. Urethane floors do not require wet mopping. Natural floors are water resistant, not water proof. Remove all spills promptly using a soft, slightly damp cloth
                                    • STEAM CLEANERS OR WET-JET swiffer; Lumber Liquidators does not recommend "Water brooms" "Wet-Jet Swiffers or steamer type cleaners on laminates, corks or hardwood floors. Although steamers may work well cleaning OTHER types of hard surface flooring, the 130° to 240° heated steam vapor can ruin wood or urethane finish resulting in warped or cupped flooring. Water and wood do not mix well, especially steam. Use these products at your own risk.
                                    • Do place protective mats at entry doors to keep dirt, grit, sand and moisture from being track in from the outside.
                                    • Do use area rugs in heavily traveled areas and pivot points (e.g., stair landings, room entries, etc.), especially if you have a large family or indoor pets.
                                    • When using area rugs, use a rug pad with a felt, plant or PVC based backing. DO NOT use area rugs with a petroleum based rubber backing (typically black) as this can cause permanent chemical staining/etching of the floor finish.
                                    • Take reasonable precautions; use a dolly and protective sheets of plywood when moving heavy objects such as furniture and appliances.
                                    • Place protective pads beneath furniture legs and feet to reduce scratches and dents. Check and replace wore pads regularly.
                                    • Keep pet’s nails trimmed, and paws clean and free of dirt, gravel, grease, oil, and stains.
                                    • Scratches, dents and cupping are site related, not considered a manufactured defect.

Do I need the underlayment for this flooring that already has the padding attached? It's going to be installed in a kitchen over a subfloor - not over concrete. WIth the attached padding, it seems like overkill to lay additional underlayment. Thoughts? We were looking at the Premium Underlayment

We recommend installing your laminate flooing first then have the carpet butt up to the transition moloding. You can use a end cap threshold for the carpets and depending on the height difference from the bathroom floor to the new floor will determine what transition would work the best.
