I would NOT recommend buying this product. We put this throughout our entire downstairs, and yes, it is very beautiful. HOWEVER, if water gets on the floor for longer than a few minutes (i.e. a missed ice cube that melts, or a puppy's accident, etc.), the water will seep in the grove and the laminate bubbles. Very disappointed. Was hoping for something easy for a family with small kids, but I find it very stressful and not durable. :(
We had a TERRIBLE time with different hard wood (toba teak) and had to return it. We got this instead. Easy to install - beautiful, glossy, soooo nice. We are getting ready to sell our home and one thing we have heard over and over from potential buyers and realtors is how lovely the floors are. I don't think the pictures do justice to the richness of the color! We have new white base board trim and it just sets it off beautifully. Love them.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, my new Brazilian Koa Floors. These floors give my Condo a brand new look the floor looks like actual hardwork floors. This flooring look sooo expense without breaking the bank. I had these floors professionally install by Zilla Flooring Inc., in Upper Westchester Co. These contractors did an AWESOME job. The project took two days however their time/labor was priced reasonablely. For someone who just brought a condo and trying to stick reasonable decorating budget. The contractor told me how to care for the flooring to prevent any damage and scratches. All you need is soft broom to pick up any dust & dirt on floors, a swifter or dry mop pad and from LL the Dream Home Laminate Cleaner or Windex. The key is to spray the cleaners on the swifter or dry mop pad do not spray on the actual flooring. Also for you furniture go into any hardware store, walmart, target, or home depot and get furniture felt pads that goes on the legs of your dining room chairs/table and legs of you living room furniture so it won't scratch your beautiful floors. Another suggestion when you have company over your house have you company take their shoes off at the door.

it looks nice but I do not like the way the v grooves feel when you walk on the floor barefoot. not to mention it holds dirt. I also can't get the floors clean. there is a film that won't go away. not really happy with it but guess I'm stuck with it.

Overall I recommend the product, but beware that it comes with tons of damaged pieces. There are the obvious broken pieces, but less obvious are the damaged edges that you can only see at angles in reflections. I didn't see it until i had half of the project done, but maybe 1/3 of the pieces had spots on the edges where the surface ramps up slightly which looks terrible when you can see it at sharper angles, but is not otherwise obvious. Overall i recommend the product, just inspect every piece carefully and look at the reflection of the surface of each piece. And make sure you order at least 25% more than you need!

Q:
I installed the St. James Laminate 12mm Brazilian Koa. I purchased an area rug pad to go under my rug which indicates that may not be suitable for vinyl, lacquered or acrylic surfaces. Not knowing the makeup of laminate top surface, would the laminate be considered under these 3 items? Thank you.1 answer
A:
Laminate does not fall into any of these categories, so you should be good.Q:
Would this work in a kitchen?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes. Hardwood, engineered, laminate (higher warranty laminate is better in high traffic areas like kitchens like this one), vinyl plank, cork, and high warranty bamboo (Morning Star) is acceptable for installation in a kitchen, but we highly recommend you put a throw rug by the sink because an excess of water can damage any floor. Like hardwood flooring, spills should be toweled dry promptly.Q:
I have bedroom over garage and its cold more than other parts of the house. Can the 12mm laminate be installed on top of carpet padding or some other insulation? I already have your premium padding. Can I put that on top of carpet padding and install this product?1 answer
A:
Unfortunately not, any carpet or padding will have to be removed because it offers no moisture protection or support to the locking system..Q:
Can the wood laminate flooring be laid over concrete with hydro radiant heating?3 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes this laminate flooring can be installed over hydronic radiant heat. See radiant heat information and more here - www.lumberliquidators.com/assets/images/installation/dream_home.pdfA:
Yes you can!A:
Yes you can!Q:
Can I use a steam mop on the flooring?1 answer
A:
We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.Q:
