Q:Can this floor be used above a radiant flooring system? the heating system is installed above a basement within the floor jousts just below were I wanted to install this floor.
A:Yes you can!
Q:Is this a good floor to put in a bathroom?
A:full bathroom that is showered in everyday may not be the best location for hardwood. Often there is too much water on the floor or humidity that can be absorbed into the flooring resulting in board edge cupping. Resilient and Tile floors are a better choice for these areas.
Q:Can this floor be installed floating similar to a laminate floor?
A:FLOATING FLOOR INSTRUCTIONS During installation, Carpenters PVA Floating Floor Wood adhesive should be applied to each groove on the short and long sides of the planks to ensure bond with the other planks. Two separate continuous beads of glue should be applied: one continuous bead applied inside the groove, and one continuous bead applied to the top part of the tongue at all seams to ensure a secure bond with the top and bottom of the tongue. This double-gluing helps to minimize squeaks, board gaps, or separation. Note that seasonal gapping is normal in wood flooring and does not constitute a product failure.
Q:Does the flooring need to run perpendicular to the floor joists? We are installing over plywood subfloor. Is it Ok if the flooring direction doesn't match the wood floor direction for the stairs? Do you recommend a miter saw and a table saw or will a table saw work? Do you recommend two types of air nailers?
