Give your floors a REAL WOOD look and feel with St. James Collection!

St. James Collection by Dream Home - 12mm Butterscotch Oak Laminate Flooring - With FREE Pre-Attached Padding - 30 Year Warranty

St. James offers a regal alternative.  The V-groove makes it a snap to install and the texture and detail on each plank gives your floor a real wood look and feel. At 12mm with 3mm of pre-glued underlayment, the St. James Collection is very durable and comes with a 30 year warranty!

Quick Installation Tips:
- Store flooring flat for 48 hours in its original packaging at room temperature.
- Must be installed over a clean, stable, flat, smooth, and dry surface.
- Moisture barrier is required for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

  • Q:

How thick is the visible top layer?
Asked on 10/6/2015 by Mike from Syracuse, NY

      A:

      It is paper thin.

The beauty of laminate flooring is more than just skin deep. Laminates are composed of 4 main parts, the wear layer, decorative paper, core layer, and the stabilizing layer (backing layer). The wear layer is provided by a melamine resin which is highly wear resistant and scratch resistant. The decorative paper gives the laminate a high definition wood or tile look. The core layer is made of High Density Fiberboard or Medium Density Fiberboard. The stabilizing layer is the bottom layer of the laminate and it helps provide stability and moisture resistance. The texture is added to the wear layer through a process called "embossing", which involves pressing patterns into the surface. The best quality laminates use a process called "embossing in register", where the textured pattern actually follows the grain in the image, creating an even more realistic looks and feels.

can this laminate product be used in "wet" areas such as bathrooms and kitchens etc.?

      A:

Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our solid natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our engineered or vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4 and 5mm click together products that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

we have currently installed this floor in one bedroom. Are going to install it in a second then continue into hallway. Both bedrooms open into the same hallway, side by side. Is there an easy way to transition into the hallway from both doorways. flooring will be running straight onto the hallway from both bedrooms. There is approximately 8-10 inches between the doors
Asked on 7/7/2015 by Dort from Ottawa, Ohio

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

T-molding is used for transitions from room to room or room to hallway. Floating floors requires expansion breaks. Allow normal floor movement independent of other connected rooms. Any room or connected areas greater than 27' feet in any direction must have expansion breaks placed into the flooring. Expansion breaks and T-Molding transitions must be installed between adjoining rooms, connections in hallways and at all doorways. Failure to meet these requirements can result in the floor buckling, separating or gapping. This requirement is not applicable when gluing this product to the subfloor.

  • Q:

Does this produce require additional underlayment to install on a concrete slab?
    Asked on 7/2/2015 by robyn

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Yes. A 6 to 8 mil poly sheeting moisture barrier should be laid for floating floors for an On or Below grade Concrete subfloor. Overlap seams 4-6" and tape with duct tape. Overlay perimeter 3-4" up wall.

    • CUSTOMER CARE
