    Nice looking floor

    By Honey do got done.

The floor was fairly easy to install. There were some pieces that I could not use because they were defective. I had extra so I did not have to use the bad pieces. Over all the floor turned out very nice and I hope it last many years.

    Butterscotch Oak Engineered flooring

    By Homeowner

    from Bryan, Texas

    Verified Reviewer

Installed 2000 square ft. of this wood into our new home. When movers came with the furniture, a couple of dings/dents happened. However, they have left a white mark that will not come off. It appears that the top layer is like a thin layer of wood look. I have had engineered wood and solid hardwood and neither ever left a white mark - only a dent.

Also, store where we bought the wood was to have the wood sent from another store; however, on the day we went to pick it up, it was not there and we had to drive to the other location. Employee at this store was not helpful in loading onto trailer or in securing load.

        Cons

        • Questionable Durability

        Best Uses

When purchasing, we thought this was a snap-together floor and the associate did not bother to sell us wood glue. After buying the glue and getting started, the floor goes in fairly easily and I am satisfied overall. I do feel the product scratches too easily, however.

          Cons

          • Won't last long

          Best Uses

I have no complaints about the store I bought this flooring from. We had a professional install the floor about 2 years ago for us. It was installed in our living room, hallway and foyer. However, I noticed very quickly my 2 dogs scratched the flooring almost immediately. We have (2) 55 pound, very active dogs. Now I have almost all the flooring covered with area rugs to keep it from looking like a hot mess. I hate it that I spent all this money to have hardwood installed but now I have to keep covered from view because this flooring is so delicate. I wish now I would have spent a few hundred more dollars and got a floor more durable. Don't buy this flooring is you have pets, kids or are going to lay it in a high traffic area.

Check Concrete for Sealers All paint, adhesives, dust, debris, and sealers must be removed from the concrete prior to gluing down engineered wood flooring. To check for a concrete sealer spill a small cup size amount of water onto the concrete surface. If the water beads up, and does not soak into the concrete, a sealer is present. The sealer will have to be removed before continuing with the glue down installation. Check with adhesive manufacture for recommendations on sealer removal.

                A:

For general cleaning a swiffer type system works best. Not one that sprays the floor however. Lightly damp is fine but never soak or flood mop your floor. Do not use steam mops. Have a no shoes policy as much as possible. Use felt pads on all furniture. Sweep often.

Bellawood Cleaner works well, find here - http://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/s/flooring-molding-tools-accessories/floor-care-products

In addition, Bona Kemi makes a decent hardwood flooring cleaner.

Do not use oil-type cleaner of any kind.

                A:

The way a floor is treated or maintained can affect its longevity. In addition, there is no relationship between the hardness or denseness of exotic species and its resistance to surface scratches. Wood floor manufactures do not offer warranties of protection against denting or scratches, rather product warranties refer to milling defects and finish wear within specified periods of time.

Wood floors like furniture will scratch and dent if not properly protected. It is recommended to use furniture pads (included in our cleaning kit) under the furniture legs. Pet nails should be kept trimmed and sharp objects (including high heels) kept away from the floor. Often scratches can be adequately repaired using liquid scratch covers. Dents and nicks can be filled using wood floor repair kits available at your local home store. If your floor is severely damaged please consult a professional about refinishing, an individual board replacement may be all that’s needed.
