BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Select Brazilian Redwood Prefinished Solid Hardwood Flooring

We Redefined Quality, Again. We set the quality standard by introducing a groundbreaking finish so tough it allowed us to offer one of the first 50 year warranties. Others followed. So, we raised the bar again. Now Bellawood is backed by a Certified 100 Year Transferable Warranty that covers you and generations to come.

One of the most dense and durable species available, Brazilian Redwood distinguishes itself with a breathtaking blend of deep reds and golden browns. Its exquisite grain is mostly straight with an occasional and dramatic wavy pattern on select boards. The advantages of Brazilian Redwood are simple. Its durability lets you live life. But its beauty lets you live life luxuriously.
This product is proudly finished in the USA.

About "Select Grade" Flooring
Select Grade has the most uniform color with no large knots and the longest average lenght of planks. Also referred to as First Grade.

Crafted to a Higher Standard. Every board is milled to precise specifications to ensure ease of install and topped with our industry-leading scratch-resistant finish. In fact, quality control engineers walk over 12 miles a day inspecting each board, before and after the finishing process.

We caught up with real Lumber Liquidators' customers who volunteered to discuss their floor shopping, buying and installation experiences. In no way did these customers receive compensation for their kind words. (They're speaking straight from the heart.)

QUALITY GUARANTEE: NO formaldehyde is used in the manufacturing or construction of this flooring.

Very nice product. The boxes contain uniform quality and size. Very little wastage - maybe 3 pieces in 7 boxes were damaged. Highly recommend.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Select Brazilian Redwood:

I had it installed during winter, which was a bad idea. When the hot and humid summer arrived, the floor started to buckle and warp slowly to the point where I had to rip out the entire floor and be redone. I first blamed myself and also my contractor for not knowing much. I then hired someone different with a lot more experience and knowledge. I even had it sit in my hot and humid house so it can acclimate for more than a week. The same thing is happening again but not as bad. It only happens around the longer pieces though. (I think there wasn't enough nails) It can be fixed with some finishing nails and wood filler. It's just very frustrating thinking the second time around will fine. I started thinking to myself how I would have done it differently. Used 18 guage L shape nails instead of 16 guage? (Dense and 3/8" or thinner are prone to crack at the lip. Becareful with the nail you choose and the PSI used). Don't space the nails so far apart? Use a thicker plywood for the subfloor? These things still cross my mind everytime I look at the floor. My advice, is to take my last few comments and let the contractor knows and asks for their advice. Or even talk to the sales people at LL. Thank you and I hope this helps.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Select Brazilian Redwood:

We have the Brazilian redwood instalaed on most of the rooms in the house, and it changes entire house like tuxedo with bow tie. Makes me feel like a millionaire too. It is easy to maintain and to clean up, but upset our doggie due to slippery floor. One thing that we feel negative is the over 10% of product defect ratio. We have to use 3 extra boxes of materials on top of the 5% calulated loss.

We installed this flooring in our kitchen and love it. The color and finish look great and it has already stood up to a few dropped tools, etc. without a mark. It was done in 4 hours, 125 sq. ft, with an experienced friend doing it and my husband assisting. We were told not to glue it, and we took the advise. We rented a floor stapler and I'm sure it was faster and cleaner.

Beautiful floor installed throughout my 1st level. Very hard wood to cut through and the recommended glue is very difficult to get off. Found the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser was the only way to get the glue off after it cures.

                  • Q:

Our Brazilian redwood floor is now installed in our living room and looks great. Before we return the furniture to the room, we'd like to give it an overall cleaning.

Would Murphy's Oil Soap be safe? The bottle states it is fine for finished wood floors - 1/4 cup per gallon of water with well-wrung out mop.

                    Thank you!

                      A:

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.
                      General Cleaning:
One. Lightly sweep or vacuum your hard surface floor.
Two. Spray Bellawood floor cleaner onto a terry cloth mop cover and wipe the floor surface.
Do not use this product on wax finished floors. Do not spray cleaning product directly on floor.
                      Thank you for your inquiry.

This floor is installed in much of a home I am buying. I would like to install it in a bathroom that runs into the balance of the wood floor. Can I install it over an old tile floor? If so, what thickness do you suggest? I understand the elevation difference.

                      A:

If your "puppy" visits the same spot over time it could stain the wood by getting between the boards.
We recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes.

I would suggest a 20 gauge cleat nailer; 1 1/4" length cleat. powernail model 200, or 250M or Primatech model Q550.

I've noticed that some floors such as this one have the word "select" at the beginning and end of the product name and some such as product 10005401 (which appears to be the same as this one) only have "select" at the end; is there a difference between the two? I am looking for flooring that has a large variety of shades from light to dark; which floor would you recommend?

                      A:

Wood products can be dramatic in appearance, especially the exotics. Only factory made products such as tile, vinyl, and wallpaper will have uniformity of color. Keep in mind that wood and corks are natural product and no two installed floors will be identical. Variations in appearance are completely normal and are a desired characteristic. As your floor ages, color or shading called “patina” can occur. This process can be rapid the first 3 months, less in 6 months, then finishing off in about I year. Moving the furniture and rugs around helps to even out areas that were not exposed to light. Try to avoid large area rugs for the first 3 months.

All wood species can change color over time due to oxidation or when exposed to light. In some species, the change can be more dramatic and may darken in color over time, while others tend to lighten. Currently there is no known value set for Patina or color change of a species so contractors and or customers should be aware of this normal condition. The patina process is unrelated to the urethane finishes.

When installing wood floors, select boards from several boxes. Working from one box at a time can create poor color grouping or placement of any flooring. Any one board you feel is unacceptable to install can simply be discarded, replaced with the 5-10% overage you should have on hand.
