About Handscraped Flooring:
Handscraped or distressed hardwood floors have a natural worn appearance. They look like floors from the days when floors were finished by hand.

About Engineered Flooring:
Hardwood veneer layers are stacked on one another, with the grain of the adjacent layers oriented perpendicular to each other.
Because wood expands and contracts in the direction of the grain, one layer stabilizes the next, resulting in a product that is less susceptible to the effects of moisture & temperature change.

  • Q:

I have to repair an area on my Canyon Birch floor where my office chair wore the finish down. What urethane product and finish was used so I can match it. How do you recommend I repair?

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Any semi-gloss flooring grade urethane finish will work with the correct preparation. Follow the finish manufacturer instructions.

What cleaner product is recommended for use on the Canyon Birch engineered hardwood floor?

      Cleaning and Maintenance

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.

  • Q:

I have looked in the install guide but can not find the answer, is there a repeated patern with engineered wood ?...do I need to open up all of the boxs before the install team gets here to separate the boards ( like we had to do with the 12mm laminate in another room).

With "real" wood there will not be a repetitive pattern.

      A:

Wax filler sticks, stain markers and color-putty are now available at your local Lumber Liquidators and at most home centers that are used for minor hardwood repairs. This process is used to fill-in face-nails, nicks and gouges. Select the appropriate stick color to match the damaged area. Often several colors are used to blend colors for exotic species, bring a scrap piece of the flooring to match it up. Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

How close to a match is Bellawood 5"Lucia Maple to Mayflower canyon birch? I have BellaWood in living room and hall, but both bedrooms are right off the hall. Would it look good together/
Asked on 7/21/2013 by susie-q from Midwest City, Oklahoma

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

There is quite a contrast between the two. However it is not uncommon to have different flooring in separate rooms so it could work for you. One thing to consider; many realtors agree that the same species/flooring throughout a home makes it worth more at resale. However personal preference can rule.

      A:

Birch is one of our softer woods you can check on our Lumber Liquidators Website and view the Janka chart for more dense woods.
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.
      Thank you for your inquiry.
