Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 5" Charleston Chestnut Heart Pine:
We put in our whole house and loved it, but it is much darker than advertised so be warned. Dents, chips and scratches very easily.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 5" Charleston Chestnut Heart Pine:
The lumber itself is lovely. Unfortunately, several of the boxes I bought were trimmed to different widths - sometimes as much as 3/16ths of an inch off! Obviously this makes measuring, fitting, etc. much more laborious. This is a pretty egregious error, IMHO.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 5" Charleston Chestnut Heart Pine:
We've used this product & others from here before & never had these issues. The store manager did replace some of the wood but even that had really tattered boxes. We had to be very very ccareful avoiding waste since so maney ends were mutilated. But, the wood that was good is beautiful. JUST CHECK YOUR BOXES BEFORE SIGNING FOR IT.

The flooring was richer in color than the sample was and we actually liked it so much better. I would use this flooring throughout the house if I didn't already have previous flooring. Loved it.

Comments about Clover Lea 3/4" x 5" Charleston Chestnut Heart Pine:
My husband wanted heart pine flooring for the past 25 years, I finally gave in and agreed...for the upstairs bedrooms and hallway. I love the floor, it looks fantastic, finish is beautiful. However, there were way more small pieces in each bundle than 7 footers which made for a long and tedious matching process. It went down easy enough with an air nailer, lots and lots of small 1 foot pieces left over. The average for each box was two 7 foot pieces and the rest were one 5 foot piece, one 4 foot piece and several 18 inch pieces.

We selected pine knowing it would show more wear than hardwoods.
It's a beautiful floor. We used 3/4 inch to redo our dining room and family room. Very pleased with the product.

We built an addition on a replica 1776 house that has wide pine board floors throughout. This product was a very good match and we used it in a bathroom nd walk-in closet. We are very pleased with the results. Even though it was random length, almost all pieces were 7 foot. This worked out perfectly for us.Louis

The wide plank chestnut heart pine has a rich color and is easy to clean. I plan to buy this flooring for the upstairs bedrooms as well.

I'm a little bit confused by the description of this item. There's this line:1 answer

is this southern heart pine grown in america or some other pine grown abroad1 answer
A:
All of our pines are grown in this country.Q:
Reading the reviews a common reply in the con section is it scratches easily. I've refinished the 1" hardwood floors in my 1970's style rambler and then applied 3 coats of Polyurethane. This resulted in a very tough surface. So my question is this; could one after installation, lightly sand with 120 grit and then recoat using a Polyurethane. We have dogs, a graveled drive and live in the Northwest so wet feet are a common occurence.1 answer
A:
You could lightly abrade the finish and apply a new finish over the flooring. The grit of paper you should use would have to be determined by the finish manufacture. This product has a water base finish with aluminum oxide for extra durability. Any product can scratch no mater what the finish applied. To help prevent scratches from dogs you can cover their nails with vinyl claw covers. These can be bought at major pet stores.Q:
Want to install Heart pine flooring over vinyl tiled above grade concrete slab - house was built in the 50's and has heat ducts running underneath slab1 answer
A:
This can be floated with our Elastilon product, or nailed down using a double plywood floating subloor method.Q:
