Mayflower- 5/16" x 5" Chase Oak- Prefinished Quick Click Engineered Flooring- 10 Year Warranty

This Mayflower engineered flooring is constructed with a real hardwood veneer atop a moisture-resistant MDF core (medium density fiberboard) which is made from real wood fibers that are compressed into a dense, impact-resistant format. In addition to providing extra protection against denting, the MDF enables the most precise milling of the profile to enhance ease of installation and long-term durability.

  • Q:

Does anyone ever add another protective layer of satin varish on installation? Is this even possible?
Asked on 1/6/2017 by Chris from United States

      A:

You could reseal prefinished flooring after it is installed, but this would void the finish warranty on the flooring and create extra expense for you after already buying a new floor with a factory finish warranty. Adding a new finish won't prevent all moisture from going into the seams. Wood will expand and contract with climate changes. If the flooring were to contract later and create seasonal gapping, a spill can cause water to get into the gaps. It is best to only add a new finish when the old finish starts to wear more than you like or if you have a lot of scratches you want covered up. We recommend that you use a professional sand and finish expert if you did decide to add a new finish to the flooring. Thank you for your inquiry.

Thank you for contacting us in regards to the most recent media coverage of Lumber Liquidators. Despite the errors in CDC's calculation, we note that they do not expect to change their recommendations and we support those recommendations. We also agree with CDC that their revised calculation overestimates any potential health risks from these products, and we are encouraged that CDC is seeking a broader review of their conclusions. Lumber Liquidators has significantly strengthened our quality assurance procedures, from enhanced compliance protocols to product sample testing. In early May of 2015, Lumber Liquidators proactively suspended sales of all laminate flooring sourced from China. Additionally, since March of 2015, Lumber Liquidators has offered customers free independent air quality tests to provide objective scientific information about our products. We remain committed to operating with integrity and delivering quality flooring to our customers. To see if you quality for a free in-home air quality test kit please visit: http://www.lumberliquidators.com/sustainability/our-commitment-to-quality-safety and select the 'Air Quality Test' link. Products such as: Hardwood, Tile, and Vinyl do not use formaldehyde in the manufacture process and there is no need to test this type of flooring. Bamboo and Engineered floors are made differently using different materials. Testing is reserved for a select few laminate floors sourced from China prior to May 7th 2015. Thank you, Lumber Liquidators

      A:

      Per the instructions:
      RADIANT FLOOR HEATING
      1. Follow the instructions from the supplier of the floor heating system.
      2. Concrete subfloors must be installed and cured a minimum of 60 days.
      3. The heating system must be in operation for at least two weeks before installation to dissipate any residual moisture. During installation, the system may be turned off or set to a suitable installation temperature 60 -80°F, humidity 30 -50%.
      4. Adjust the heating system gradually, start at the lowest setting and gradually increase the heat by 5 degree increments each day. The heating surface temperature must not exceed 85°F. Add humidification as needed.
      5. Over dry conditions and excessive surface heat can create problems with the finish, board gapping and splits.
You can find complete installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the installation tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.

      Unfortunately not.
I would recommend visiting your local Lumber Liquidators to look at the actual sample (take home samples are free) or order a sample to make sure this is the right product for you.
Order samples and get a full credit on your future flooring order.
Purchasing samples is a great way to compare the many fantastic flooring choices available at Lumber Liquidators—and it's so easy!
      1. Find the flooring you're interested in by clicking on a category or using our Floor Finder on the home page.
      2. When you find a particular floor, just click on the "Add Sample"(if available) text. On the right of your screen, you'll see a swatch of that flooring. That means it's in your shopping cart.
      3. You can get up to three samples for $10, with every additional sample costing just $1—and shipping is FREE.
      4. Simply check out. Upon purchase, we'll send an e-mail with your "Samples Credit" equal to the total dollar amount of your samples purchase, redeemable with any future purchase.
Note: expedited samples shipping fee is not refundable and will not be added to the "Samples Credit."

      A:

This floor can be screened and refinished. Screening takes less off, mostly the top of the finish and leaves the thin veneer un-harmed.
