We were trying to make a smooth transition between rooms with different flooring types. This piece worked smoothly.

The only purpose for this is going between two level (or semi-level) joints of laminate flooring. I used this going between rooms to provide the appropriate expansion gap.
It is very sturdy, no wiggle at all. I don't see this as being a trip hazard, either: it sits tightly to the floor.

We had some horrible looking berber carpet that we needed to replace. We looked and priced lots of floors. I received a coupon from Lumber Liquidators so it really knocked the price down! We were way below budget. They sold us a plastic barrier and the t-moldings. My father in law installed it with no real problems. Sometimes it was hard to "snap" together. With the right tools, it worked just fine. The only downside to this flooring is, the durability. After the first day, we had a huge scratch. Our fault moving furniture back but wish it was a little more durable.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

due to it's dark color dings are alot more noticalbe. when locking in be carefull to notice other areas that slide out from the vibration when hammering other boards to lock in place.
