St. James offers a regal alternative. The V groove makes it a snap to install and the random lengths give your floors a real wood look and feel.
At 12mm, the St. James Collection is very durable and comes with a 30 year warranty!

Quick Installation Tips:
- Store flooring flat for 48 hours in its original packaging at room temperature.
- Must be installed over a clean, stable, flat, smooth, and dry surface.
- Moisture barrier is recommended for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can also be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

St. James Collection's Advantages:
- No glue and no nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- Thickness: 12mm + 3mm (1/8") pre-glued underlayment
- AC Rating: 3
- 30 Year Warranty

My Daughter's Room Transormed

Pros

    Cons

      Best Uses

I recently had this installed in my daughter's room. Feels solid and looks amazing!
She returned from College and is convinced that we are trying to keep her from moving out by redesigning her room. BTW - She LOVES it!
I can't tell if it wears well under high traffic but it works perfectly for us in her bedroom.
I took a left over piece and conducted my own test. I intentionally scratched it/chipped it with a nail, I then soaked it in water, and left it outdoors in the rain a few times. The scratches are only noticable from certain angles, in certain light. It did NOT swell and the chips are easily hidden with a black Sharpie marker.
Also saved some money because this floor already comes with the padding built onto the back.
I'm considering using this very floor in other rooms of my house.

we love the floor. Made our 1935 house look modern. I added a rug in Living Room because of our dog's hair. Made it easier to keep clean. Easy clean-up but does show everything, dust, etc. Love it in spite of this. We have Fla. home and it helped to insulate the floor. We used extra padding along with the product. We used every single piece of the floor. We had exactly enough. No boards were not usable. My husband couldn't believe it that we had none left. just enough!

Forgiving to install over lumpy concrete floors. Feels very sturdy. Resists scuff marks surprisingly well for such a dark and glossy finish.

This is a laminate so I think that is why some of the pieces in the box didn't have good edges. But it was still worth it as the price was low and it looks good. People are impressed because it has a unique look.

I was a little nervous about such dark floors, but I love contrast so I went for it. Dark floors with light walls and accents. It looks beautiful. The only problem is that it shows dust, so just be prepared to sweep once or twice a week.

As a first time DIY homeowner, I was surprised at how simple it was to install. Just be prepared to cut angles and have the right kinds of saws.

In half baths yes when it is protected by a throw rug by sink. Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our solid natural flooring or laminate products for this application,

I would suggest one of our Vinyl Tranquility products. Thank you for your inquiry.

                            A:

Kitchen cabinet bases should be installed before the floor is installed. Because this is a “floating floor”, expansion space must be
left around the entire perimeter of the room and any fixed objects (including base cabinets) to allow for movement. FAILURE TO MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS CAN RESULT IN BUCKLING AND OTHER PROBLEMS!
Laminate floors offer a wide variety of coordinating moldings and transition pieces to cover the expansion space at walls, doorways, cabinets and transitions to other flooring. Thank you for your inquiry

                            A:

Your laminate flooring (or any flooring) should be installed AFTER cabinets are installed. This is because flooring needs to expand and contract freely. Expansion gaps are needed around perimeter and around any fixed vertical obstructions. Quarter Round molding or shoe molding is used to cover the expansion gap.

                            What is an AC rating?
The common term used to denote the durability level of laminate flooring is its, Abrasion Criteria or “AC” rating. AC ratings are an abbreviated representation of a laminate’s overlay film resistance to abrasion, impact, stains and cigarette burns. The ratings also indicate that the product has been tested for the effects of furniture legs, castors, and swelling along its edges. When a laminate flooring product has a rating, then it has passed all of the test criteria. Failing just one test will disqualify a product.
The AC rating levels are designated AC1 through AC5. Each is represented by international pictographs reflecting the product’s application and durability. The primary application is divided into two groups: residential and commercial. Each group is further divided into traffic intensity levels: moderate, general, or heavy. An AC1 rating which is the lowest should only be used in light-traffic area’s. At the other end of the scale is AC5 which is produced for the commercial market and for use in very high-traffic area’s. A laminate flooring rating of AC2 or AC3 is found on flooring tailored to the domestic and residential market. As can be seen, Laminate ratings are beneficial to customers for product comparison shopping. If you are tempted by some very cheap laminate flooring, be cautious, you may find that it hasn't received any type of AC rating indicating it failed to meet the minimum requirements. During product testing, if it fails on just one single test, then approval for that laminate flooring rating is denied. For residential use, a rating of AC3 is perfectly adequate. Typically the higher the laminate flooring rating, the higher the price may be. The test devised for abrasion resistance. Thank you for your inquiry.

The general rule of thumb is to have the flooring running parallel to the longest outside wall.
With this floating laminate it is truly a matter of choice.
