Wife and I watched numerous YouTube videos on how to install hardwood flooring. Learned many do's and don't's. We are beginners and turned out great.
Product was very good. Tight fit. Very few defects. Most defects seemed to be concentrated in one box (of 11 purchased). One small piece was not oak. Much darker and heavier. All stock #'s matched.
Very little waste. I estimate <2%. Going to return one box.
We are very happy with the results. We took our time and did each piece exactly. 1.5 days to do 191 sq. ft. Nice weekend project.
Top nailed first 3 rows and last 5 rows because of walls.
Looking forward to doing 2 more rooms.
Very pleased with the product.
We installed this floor after Superstorm Sandy destroyed our carpets in our living room. Out of 23 boxes purchased, there was only one board found that could not be used. Our new floor looks so good, my wife wants to install them in the rest of the house (someday)

I'm an independent contractor and I put down 5 to 7 floors a year. However, this one is going in for my most picky customer; my wife. I am very impressed with the milling of this floor and the amount of long pieces included in each box. With some floors, a lot of the pieces are so short that the job ends up looking like a parquay. This one had a lot of long pieces that give the job a much nicer finished look. The milling was first rate and everything fit the way it was supposed to with tight joints on all sides. It's really a great product and I highly recommend it.

Used the classic gunstock oak flooring. Products initially installed in the master bedroom. Worked so well, I did the den as well.
My husband and a couple friends installed this flooring in our home in a day. It looks elegant and polished. We really love it!

We used this product for the second story of our home. We didn't use it for the first floor because the finish is only on the top of the floor and I was afraid that if water seaped through the cracks of the floor, we'd have some damage. The great thing about this product is it installed very easily and the furniture could be moved back immediately verses sanding, staining and poly. (Which is what we did on the 1st floor) We did use this product on the master bathroom but we painted on polyurethane with a small brush on each tongue/groove before installation to ensure no water damage. The whole upstairs looks upscale and so fantastic. The downfall is, if you get a chip in the floor, it's hard to match up with stain and poly so be very careful.

Q:
What is the stain color (or color number) to match this classic gun stock on red oak wood? I bought the Minwax gun stock stain (color 231) and it comes out reddish color. I need to stain molding (red oak & pine) to match this color.1 answer
A:
Unfortunately this stain is not available in a can for retail sale. I would recommend bringing a scrap piece of the flooring (and a piece of the wood transition you will be staining) to a paint store and they should be able to match the stain for you. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
How durable is the Classic Gundstock Oak?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The Taber Abrasion Test is to evaluate the finish resistance of a specific product and the result is the number of cycle it takes before the abrasive (going in rotation) goes through the finish. We’re using the norm ASTM D4060 (S33) and it requires 550 cycles or more for a product to pass. All our products pass this test. Durawood would exceed the 550 cycles by double or moreQ:
does is have bevald edges?1 answer
A:
Yes this is a beveled edge product.Q:
