A:This product is not FSC-certified. However Lumber Liquidators offers flooring brands that practice responsible harvesting. People that make their living in timber know the importance of sustaining healthy forests. Without a well-planned growth cycle, they simply are out of business. Tree cutting is monitored very carefully within a selective cutting and replanting strategy. At Lumber Liquidators, we believe hardwood flooring is a natural, healthy choice—for both you and the environment. What is managed forestry? Flooring mills must submit harvesting plans to the local government for approval. As a part of this process, they map and grid the land affected and take an inventory of the trees (size and species) in each grid. The government will then approve the plan and the mills must cut to it. There are limitations on the number and size of each species that can be harvested from each grid and then they must move to the next grid. Once a grid is harvested, they cannot go back there until 30 years has passed. Most mills will participate in re-foresting (planting new) even though they are not required to. The formaldehyde contains .05 ppm. which meets California Air Resources Board. Yes this is a product from China.
