Morning Star Click Bamboo - 1/2" x 5" Prefinished Solid Strand Carbonized Bamboo Flooring - 30 Year Warranty

Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury.

Quick Highlights:
- Real Bamboo
- Eco-Friendly
- Easy Floating "Click-Together" installation
- Backed by a 30 Year Warranty

Carbonized
Steamed bamboo, caramelizing the sugar within to change its color.

Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

I love the floor and the look. It has made all the rooms look larger. It is very dent resistant. I have had the floors in since August 2012 and I now have a 2 year old who drops all of his toys on the floor. I even have bookends that have dropped multiple times in the same spot and don't have a dent. The floor does scratch rather easily. I have scratches on the floor from my 2 year old's toys. Most of them disappear when I use the Bellawood hardwood cleaner though.

We installed this floor in our kitchen. It's beautiful, but it seems to scratch easier then I thought it should. It is colored all the way thru so a bit of matte finish polyurethane should fix that right up. We hope. It seems pretty hard and durable so far, but we haven't used it in every day life yet.

We had nearly 1900 square feet of our main level done in the Bellawood Carbonized Strand Bamboo. This was a decision that we came about after doing TONS of research. We brought home over 20 different flooring samples and tried to test them against typical 'damage' (scratching, banging with a hammer, moisture etc). The Carbonized Strand Bamboo came out on top and we have not been disappointed. We have just had our 1 year anniversary in this new house and the flooring looks as amazing as it did the 1st week it was laid down. We chose a floating floor with the premium underlayment and have been very happy with this decision. There is no noise or squeaking and the floor feels secure. When we completed the renovations in this house, we wanted to remain as green as possible. By using a sustainable product (bamboo) and avoiding a glue-down application, we were able to accomplish this goal. We have 2 children under the age of 7 and 2 dogs (one is 75 lbs). We are tough on our floors but the Carbonized Strand Bamboo is very durable, scratch and dent resistant and has a beautiful finish. By using the microfiber dust mop to "sweep" and the Bellawood floor cleaner with microfiber mop, the floors remain as beautiful as the day they were installed. I have never been happier with a purchase and so glad we chose this floor.

                  Service and delivery comments:

Lumber Liquidators did a great job with the measurement, quoting the job and installation. I will happily use them again in the future.

Makes our Family Room look larger

                      Best Uses

While the install looks great, there are some dips in the floor as no efforts were made to get it level. The install crew worked fast and completed the project ahead of schedule. They also helped us resolve some air pockets in the baseboard area before the flooring was installed. We were concerned about the color variations in the Carb Strand Bamboo as our sample was darker than we would have liked--very happy with the end result as it is the color that we wanted.

                        Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was made on time and by a very diligent employee--our floor pieces/parts weighed 2,500 pounds so he worked hard! Measure/appraisal was also done within one week of request.

Be sure to wear gloves, I got a painful splinter in one finger when I forgot to get my gloves on. The splinters are on the rough backside and aren't a problem once the flooring is installed.

Our installers had never installed a glue down before and are surprised at how easy it is. This is very hard wood and dulls the saw blades quickly. Glue is very expensive so work quickly and keep it covered! The Bostik solvent sold to clean the floor after installation is very good and cleans off the glue quickly. Our dogs had a respiratory reaction to it however so we had to mop up after using it!

                                          A:

When using area rugs, use a rug pad with a felt, plant or PVC based backing. DO NOT use area rugs with a petroleum based rubber backing (typically black) as this can cause permanent chemical staining/etching of the floor finish.

We need to take some bamboo flooring (10023754) to another location for installation. It needs to be stored at the new location for about 6 weeks before it can be installed. There is a lot of other work going on in the house so it is not practical to store it in the area where it will be installed. Can the flooring be stored in a garage (the garage is enclosed on all sides, but one sides has many openings in the brick)? The garage is not humidity or temperature controlled.

All wood products are affected by environmental conditions, especially prefinished materials.
To control wood movement- expansion or shrinkage- it is recommended to acclimate the new flooring in the areas to be installed, not in (garages, U-Haul trailers, sheds, or tents) to normal lived-in conditions while in the boxes. If the products are protected in plastic then open the ends of the boxes. Length of time is not the determining factor. The goal of acclimation is for the core of the product to reach an equilibrium or moisture balance of the new flooring with its surroundings before installation or fastening. This balance could be achieved in as little as 1 to 5 days, or longer for some dense or oily exotic species.

                                          Avoid shocking the floor.
Just like you, wood actually performs best with consistent indoor temperatures of 60°-80° F and indoor humidity levels of 30% - 50%. Very dry or humid regions of the country usually require extended conditioning. Maintaining the recommended acclimation levels even after the installation should be viewed as ongoing floor care. Your doing so will help to minimize board movement, excessive squeaks, finish cracking and gaps.

Hygrometers sold in most Target and Wal-Mart stores ($10-$45) can be used to easily identify the need to regulate the humidity or air moisture.
In addition, to prevent board warping or bowing, do not cut the plastic support bindings on the outside of the packaging until ready to install. Store products flat, in a dry place. Provide air flow under and around cartons. Do not store directly on bare concrete or next to outside walls. Cartons should be placed as close to the center of the installation area as possible.

Proper jobsite conditions, acclimation and moisture testing of the subfloor along with the new flooring all works together for the success of the installation and is the responsibility of those overseeing the project.
