Handcrafted plank by plank, the French bleed is done the traditional way by rubbing the stain on the plank edge. Colonial American homes were built with wooden floors that were sawn using basic hand-held tools. The hand-crafted workmanship that went into those floors can be found in Virginia Mill Works handscraped floors. About Engineered: Don't forget the molding and stair treads! Lumber Liquidators... More Floor, Less $$

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Colonial Plank Handscraped:
We have this floor installed in the downstairs of our home (dining room, entry, hallways, living room and kitchen.) While it is very beautiful and easy to clean, it scratches very easily and those scratches can't be disguised even with the scratch removal products that Lumber Liquidator sells. When we purchased this product, I read the reviews where others had commented that the scratches add character to the already "hand scraped" finish of the floor. They do not. The scratches are white and look like there is dirt/dust on the floor. While the flooring receives many compliments, I would not purchase this product again.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Colonial Plank Handscraped:
We love our floors and now want to finish the rest of the house by replacing our carpeting in the bedrooms with these floors. We have been enjoying these floors for almost a year now! Because we have high-energy beagles, we needed very durable floors. I did a lot of research and debated about the darker color of the wood because our dogs shed white hair. I do clean the floors every 3 or 4 days because of the hair, but the floors are worth it, and I would do it again. The dogs have not scratched up the floors at all, and they are pretty rough chasing each other around. I have only found one small scratch from them tearing around the corner. Because the floors are hand scraped, I was able to fix it easily with a oil marker. It is not noticeable and looks like it is supposed to be there. The installers did a fantastic job, and I was happy with the service from the Peoria, AZ, location. I was able to get many samples to take home and narrow down my decision. I also love the new LL thicker baseboards! I would highly recommend this flooring, because they are gorgeous and durable. We get compliments from everyone that comes in our house. It mad a huge difference in how our house feels and looks!!

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Colonial Plank Handscraped:
I had installed laminate floor before , I decide to install this floor on the same way. It takes a little bit longer to glue all seams but the product is of better quality than any laminate you can buy., it is basically more forgiven to small damages on corners than laminate and is much easier to hide small damaged areas with a special touch up pen. I had basically no waste, on laminate you usually get at least 5%. The planks come in 6 different sizes, only 2 long ones per box , this is missing in the specs. Be careful to avoid "H" patterns with this multiple length planks! I glued the T-mold using clear silicone, it gives a flexible and strong bond, better than liquid nails. Remove and reuse the baseboard for a much better installation and looking!

Florring went down easily. Don't be scared off by gluing the seams together. Pieces fit together great and it looks awesome. Definitely go for the better underlayment, especially if you are installing over concrete.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Colonial Plank Handscraped:
We searched for a long time looking for a great looking floor at a reasonable price. WE have three kids so we needed to make sure the floor was very durable also. We took a key to every sample that we got. This one was by far more durable than any others we tried. After we decided on this floor we took the sample to ever local hardwood flooring in town to see if they had anything that looked as nice, durable and same price. No one could even come close. We love the way it looks and get tons of compliments on it.

Flooring turned out better than I thought. The finish and color are perfect. We did our family and dining rooms and they are beautiful. The only down side is how dark the floor is and it shows every bit of dirt, but we can deal with that because of how great the floor looks. I would most definitely recommend this floor to others and am going to use it again in our master bedroom.
