Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Teak:
The flooring was installed seven years ago - above grade on a 20 year old concrete slab. Slab was sealed with Bostik moisture barrier and wood planks glued to the moisture barrier using Bostik adhesive per manufacturer's instructions. When completed the floor was flat and gorgeous! I live in a humid climate (east central Florida) and over time many of the planks have "cupped" which is very noticeable when looking across a room where light from outdoors is reflected on the finished floor. I've done some research, and what I learned is that cupping is caused by moisture levels higher on one side of the board than the other. I can only assume that since the floor was sealed that high humidity is the cause. Even though the floor is still beautiful, if I had it to do over I would choose an engineered wood to minimize the likelihood of warping/cupping.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Teak:
We first installed our Bellawood in our living and dining room (both high traffic areas). I installed it myself with my brother in law. Thrilled with the results, a year later we added the Bellawood to our Master bedroom. With 2 kids, and 3 pets the wood is durable and easy to keep clean. We are now adding the wood to our stairs and hallway upstairs. I have never had regrets about my Bellawood floor. It has been a fantastic investment for our home.

Product installed in existing home (DIY install); ordered for 600 sq ft addition. Lighter planks are wider, slightly but an issue if you aren't careful with the layout.

This floor was difficult to install, but it was worth the effort and looks so beautiful. It's a classic wood floor that will stand the test of time.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Teak:
We purchased this teak product for our new Sun Room. When the professional wood floor installer got so far into the room he noticed that on some boards, the board width was not uniform and would cause some noticeable small gaps between some of the boards. The installers did the best they could in securing the joint as tightly as they could. When the board width varies as much as 1/16" to 1/8" from a 3.0" nominal width target, the finished quality is poor. Colorwise the apprearance looks great; however, the fit between boards shows too many gaps. I would never buy this product again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else. We are disappointed with the lack of quality.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Teak:
We installed this flooring in one of our bedrooms and it is really a beautiful floor. We had an easy time with the installation, almost all of the pieces were usable. Very few pieces were unusable. Highly recommend this flooring to anyone.
The only downside for us is that it shows the footprints from our cat. We were going to put this flooring throughout the rest of our house, but because of the footprints, we will go with a lighter flooring.
Service and delivery comments:
Product arrived in excellent condition. Delivery was relatively fast.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Teak:
After about 7 rows in a 22x18 room I was so upset by the irregular widths of the boards and gaps. We have gotten better at picking out the narrow ones. I am still discarding one out of every 5 or 6 because of warping. Plan to take about 2 boxes out of 10 back to store for an exchange. I would not recommend this product because of width, warping, and depth variations. It is pretty though. I would have gone engineered if I had known the problems.

We had this floor put into our master bedroom and it is absolutely gorgeous! The color is amazing and is neutral enough to go with any decor. It is so easy to clean with the Bellawood floor cleaning system. I could not be more pleased with this floor and plan to do my living room next!

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/8" x 3" Brazilian Teak:
This is the best hardwood out there bought to replace probably the worst (so I know what I'm talking about!) The color variation is georgeous - from a warm beige to a deep brown with NO YELLOW AND NO GREEN undertones! It's rock solid, feels great to walk on, and has withstood my three young kids and three dogs with out any problem. We did install an underlayer, and I'm told it's not the easiest to put in, but I hired a contractor to do it so I cannot comment on that personally. I would buy this product again and again - do not fear putting it in your kitchen! It will out perform any wood out there.

I stopped in your Mobile, AL store yesterday to see an example of the cumaru. It is just what I am looking for except for one thing: The finish is too glossy. Can I dull by rubbing out with very fine steel wool or perhaps some chemical deglosser?1 answer

I am having bellawood teak floor installed and one panel appears to have marks where the stain or floor finish might have come off = it almost looks like the installer had a chemical on his hands that took off the floor finish because I see a fingerprint. How can this be repaired? Can I have him use a floor finish and if so, what kind?1 answer

The best thing to do here is not install the piece or replace it. For a guide to replace type "replacement" here - http://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/flooring/Flooring101Q:
can it be installed on concrete ongrade?1 answer
A:
Yes it can. With proper installation and care this flooring will last for years in this application. You can find complete care and installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the specs tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.pdf Thank you for your question.Q:
Can teak be put in an upstairs bathroom? If not what would you suggest .1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Hardwood, engineered and bamboo is acceptable for installation in a bathroom, but we highly recommend you put a throw rug by the sink and tub because an excess of water can damage wood or any floor besides tile. Also you will need to wipe up any water as soon as possible. For a bathroom that is showered in everyday, especially by children, there is often just too much water on the floor as well as variance in the temperature and humidity for solid wood floorings. Good ventilation is a must.Q:
Can I nail this floor over my existing sheet vinyl floor? The sub floor is 3/4 t&g plywood with 1/4 underlayment plywood.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Maybe. Hardwood can be installed over well secured firm and flat kitchen vinyl. Vinyls that are rubbery, heavily embossed, or foamy must be removed for a firm floor. For naildown flooring, vinyls that are covered over tend to sweat, so as a barrier use red rosin paper or black 15lb roofing felt under the new wood flooring.Q:
Can this be used in the salon of a yacht1 answer
A:
Our prefinished products are recommended for residential use only.Q:
does this floor lighten or darken over time?1 answer
A:
Brazilian Teak will darken over time upon exposure to sunlight mellowing as the floor matures.
