Morning Star 3/8" x 3-3/4" Danyang Strand Handscraped Bamboo |
|
|
Quick Highlights: Strand To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure. This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision. Sounds great installed with nail down and tar paper. Dogs and furniture don't scratch it, if you do get a scratch, just use a wood marker. Totally vanishes and covers nail putty spots in corners. You can't sand and refinish this product but this has a 30yr warranty so I'm not sure why you would want or need to. By then you will want a different plank size or material anyway. We are VERY satisfied with the quality, look, ease of installation, and sound of this product. Does not sound clicks like some thin laminates do. We went from 3/4" builder grade oak skinny planks and this looks and sounds better.

This bamboo looks great once it is down on the floor. The friends I brought over to look at the finished floor were very surprised when I told them it was bamboo as it doesnt look like a typical bamboo floor.
I bought this to put into a rental home as I thought it would be durable. However I noticed right out of the box that the tongues were breaking much easier than I would have expected. The finish on the floor also scratched much easier than I expected. SO I hope in year I dont walk back into the house and discover the floor is ruined.
We had this flooring installed throughout our entire lower level. It is beautiful installed, every plank is like its own work of art. They are all different, but that adds to the character of the wood. We purchased this floor for its hardness and that appears to be what we got, I haven't noticed a single scratch mark in the month we've had it and we have two cats and a dog that are very active. The one downside to this flooring would be that dirt shows up everywhere, but I guess that comes with the territory of darker wood. The installer said that it went in very easily.

Can this be used in a bathroom?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Under ideal conditions i.e. well ventilated, spills toweled immediately and throw rugs bathroom installation is possible. It is recommend to put a throw rug by the sink and tub because an excess of water can damage wood or any floor for that matter. Also you will need to wipe up water as soon as possible. However a full bathroom that is showered in everyday may not be the best location for bamboo and hardwood. Often there is too much water on the floor or humidity that can be absorbed into the flooring resulting in board edge cupping. Engineered floorings are most recommended for these areas.Q:

wHAT CLEANING PRODUCTS DO YOU RECOMEND FOR THIS DARK WOOD? i HAVE USED bONA AND A WOOD FLOOR STEAMER AND IT LOOKS DULL.1 answer
A:
I do hear of this scenario often enough and it always prooves out that there was another cleaning product used previously on the floor that is reacting to the Bellawood cleaner. Most likely once the residue is removed from the original factory finish the floor can be maintained easily. Lumber Liquidators recommends the Bellawood floor cleaner for cleaning our hardwood, laminates and cork products
