This is like working with marshmallow fluff. So thick and sets very quickly. I would not use this adhesive again.

Great Glue with Super Strength

By TJ

Pros

  • Good holding power

Cons

  • stays white

Best Uses

Do NOT nail down bamboo flooring ONLY glue it. They say it can be nailed but DON'T believe it. The flooring is super hard and nailing it cracks the finish. Gluing with this product does a super job use painters tape to go across multiple boards to help hold it in place as the glue sets up. Give it time and you will have a beautiful floor.

I used the Bostik DuraGrip 4 gallons to glue down around 700 sq/f of Morning Star 9/16" x 5-1/4" Sufong Palace Strand Bamboo. I needed around 20 gallons total + 1 pack of Bostik Ultimate Remover Towels. The glue is white in color and this helps seeing where you need to clean, but also if you leave it to dry up is very hard to be removed. It gives you plenty of time before it gets hard so you can tight planks together. Resealing the bucket with plastic trash bag as advice per Bostik will not help too much, you always end up wasting good amount of material, which you need to cut and remove from the top - try finishing the bucket if it's open already.

                  A:

As per instructions on can: Engineered hardwood flooring less than < 1/2" thick use a 1/4" x 1/4" x 1/4" sq. notched trowel
                  FYI!
Duragrip will not protect the floor from moisture that is inherently in a concrete slab. Be sure to read all instructions for your flooring.

                  A:

                  As per the instructions:
                  Glue Down Installation Method:

When gluing down the flooring, install the flooring the same way as you would using the floating installation method. The only difference is that adhesive will be applied to the subfloor, and the flooring will be laid into the adhesive bonding it to the subfloor. Always check the adhesive manufactures guidelines on proper subfloor prep, moisture testing, approved substrates, trowel sizes, cure times, and coverage. A moisture barrier is required over all concrete subfloors.

Recommended Adhesives: We recommend using the Mapei Eco 962 adhesive or the Foam Products Quicklay Spray adhesive. Technical Data Sheets for these adhesive can be found on the adhesive manufactures website, or on Lumber Liquidators Flooring 101 section at www.lumberliquidators.com
Technical data sheets provide the guidelines for approved subfloors, approved floors, subfloor prep, cure times, trowel sizes among other information.
You can find complete installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the installation tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.

Yes it can (NO MOISTURE PROTECTION)!
                  * 3 Humidity affects cure to a greater degree than temperature; the higher the humidity, the faster the cure. Under normal conditions, light foot traffic is acceptable after 6 to 8 hours; normal traffic after 12-16 hours.

I am looking to install an end grain wood floor. I plan to cut the tiles myself, they will be 1/2 in thick and it looks like they will be cut from 2x4 lumber. I was wondering if this adhesive will function in this capacity.

                  CLEAN UP
As you work, immediately clean any adhesive from prefinished
flooring with Bostik's Ultimate™ Adhesive Remover or mineral
spirits (be careful not to harm finish), then dry buff with a nonabrasive
towel. Immediately clean all tools and equipment with
Bostik's Ultimate™ Adhesive Remover or mineral spirits before
                  material cures.
TROWEL CLEAN-UP TIP: Before use, cover areas of the trowel
that are not used to spread the adhesive with blue tape. After
use, simply tear off tape before material cures, and clean the
remainder of the trowel with adhesive remover.
