Used it under clicklock Morningstar bamboo. I did not experience any of the tearing and folded up problems some mentioned. It was installed above grade over OSB and in addition to taping the strips together with the attached tape, I stapled it about every 18" around the perimeter which allowed me to carefully walk on it with no problems of tearing. Easy to cut with scissors or sharp utility knife. Inner end of the rolls were hung over the staircase and almost all the wrinkles were out the next day.

We used this product as an underlay for original hardwood flooring install. This product helped protect the subfloor after a dishwasher leak. We used this product again when hardwood flooring needed to be replaced due to dishwasher leak damage. We like that's it is made out of recycled materials and reduces floor noise. Good value for 100 sq ft.

Even though the laminate flooring had underlayment already attached we added this for the vapor barrier and for extra cushioning. Made from recycled materials so it made me feel good too! Worked out very well.

It seems to cushion and deaden sound. The big downside to this product is that the last 5 or so feet on the roll are almost unusable. It is so tightly coiled you can't unroll it to install. On some rolls it was incredibly wrinkled and lumpy.

                                        A:

You need tape. For floating and nail down installations, roll out underlayment
with tape strip next to wall. Roll out next row in same manner
butting underlayment close to first row (do not overlap) and
covering the moisture barrier film. Remove the tape strip and
secure the overlapping moisture barrier film.

We have 1/2" x 5" MorningStar strand carbonized bamboo and eco silent sound underlayment that we will be installing as a floating system on a concrete slab which is currently carpeted. We plan on covering the concrete with 6 mil poly sheeting, then the eco silent underlayment.
Question: We have read of several floating floor installations where the floor makes plastic crinkling noises when walked on. Are there any installation recommendations to minimize this sound?

most likely not especially if nailed down, It depends on the "floor ceiling assembly" (structure) and what sound insulation barriers are in it.
This underlayment will decrease sound transfer when installed under a floating floor by 22 db (IIC 22 db).

ECO Silent Sound HD - I've seen in previous question posts regarding over concrete applications that the plastic shield should be installed face down. I'm going over a wood subfloor in an above grade application with the Tranquility LVT. Do I still install with plastic side down?

Not a concrete subfloor. Some of the responses here recommend a vapor barrier before the Eco Silent for a concrete subfloor. Do I misunderstand the terms here? Concrete floor is a primary slab, >20 years. Do I need an additional vapor barrier?

For double glue down installation for wood flooring, use a urethane based adhesive (based on the adhesive manufacturer’s recommendation) with a 1/16" – 3/32” trowel on the subfloor.

The underlayment is not recommended for Peel and Stick vinyl. Peel and Stick planks must be installed over a smooth, flat, clean, dry, dust free subfloor. Thank you for your inquiry
