      • Sealing Tape Too Far From

      Best Uses

Used this over concrete basement floor but found that the sealing tape was 2" from the edge which did not hold the joining edges together. Tried packaging tape then duct tape to fix this flaw but neither held very well. Was not on cardboard roll so last 6-8" were doubled over and not usable.

This is difficult to work with alone. The tape strip on the back tends to bunch up causing the underlayment to do the same. I will be returning it before I begin the room.

          Best Uses

Product went down relatively easy. The thickness and width of the rubber coating from the factory was irregular on some of the rolls, which makes lining up seems difficult. It also tends to stretch and ripple when nailing down the floor and I had even stapled it to the subfloor. These ripples seemed to work themselves out with no noticeable effects on the finished floor. 3/4" hardwoods have only been installed for a couple of days, but I can tell the sound attenuation is good as there is very little echoing. Decent product.

Very easy to use! We used underneath our Bellawood Brazilian Koa 3/4" x 3 1/4" hardwood. It unrolls easily and cuts easily. Great alternative to the more expensive options.
The only pain is that it does rip if nudged or pulled.

Product is recycled which I really like. It seems like it is fairly easy to use (I'm not actually laying the floor so I can only say what I observe). I thought it would be quieter that it is...I still have that hollow sound in a couple areas of the floor.

Eco Silent Sound should be installed with film side down. For details type, "Eco Silent" here and see specifications for instructions - http://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/flooring/Flooring101

If using over On or Below Grade concrete; a 6 to 8 mil poly sheeting moisture barrier should be laid for floating floors for an On or Below grade Concrete subfloor. Overlap seams 4-6" and tape with duct tape. Overlay perimeter 3-4" up wall. Then lay an approved underlayment.
