Quick Installation Tips:
- Store flooring flat for 48 hours in its original packaging at room temperature.
- Must be installed over a clean, stable, flat, smooth, and dry surface.
- Moisture barrier is required for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

St. James Collection's Advantages:
- No glue and no nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- Thickness: 12mm + 3mm (1/8") pre-glued underlayment
- 30 Year Warranty

I installed this last week after a terrible experience with a cheaper product. This was almost effortless in comparison. The joints went together tightly and the whole job was a breeze. My bedroom looks beautiful and I love the way it cleans so easily. I highly recommend this product.

            • Bedroom

I installed this in my daughter's upstairs bedroom and it's a decent product. The tongue/groove parts on each board were quite flimsy, though. There were times when I wasn't sure if the pieces actually "clicked" together. However, the floor appears to be in place nicely and the overall appearance is good. Warning: the dark wood shows every speck of dust and dirt. I did the installation by myself in one day with only a miter saw and a handheld circular saw for the lengthwise cuts. This is a very easy project to do yourself, and new baseboards cover up any less than perfect cuts.

I was surprised with the ease of installation. I have installed other brands and have experienced trouble with the end joints. Not the case with this brand. I like the beveled edges as it gives it the appearance of real wood.

                  Pros

                    Cons

                    • End Joints Do Not Hold
                    • Side And End Joints Weak

                    Best Uses

The overall appearance is great, however the locking joints on the side and particulary the ends are weak and very fragile. I had alot of trouble with the ends coming apart until I installed the next row. I was half way through the room and almost stopped. It is a 260 mile trip to return. I am hoping it stays together!
I installed 1000 square feet of another L L collection with no problem. It was comparable in cost.

                          A:

Hardwood, laminate (higher warranty laminate is better in high traffic areas like kitchens), cork, and bamboo is acceptable for installation in a kitchen, but we highly recommend you put a throw rug by the sink because an excess of water can damage any floor. These floorings are water resistant relative to normal spills but not water-proof. Any soaking spills will destroy any flooring with the exception of ceramic or stone tile. Thank you for your inquiry.

                          A:

                          Thank you for writing in.
All wood products are affected by environmental conditions, especially prefinished materials.
To control wood movement- expansion or shrinkage- it is recommended to acclimate the new flooring in the areas to be installed, not in (garages, U-Haul trailers, sheds, or tents) to normal lived-in conditions while in the boxes. If the products are protected in plastic then open the ends of the boxes. Length of time is not the determining factor. The goal of acclimation is for the core of the product to reach an equilibrium or moisture balance of the new flooring with its surroundings before installation or fastening. This balance could be achieved in as little as 1 to 5 days, or longer for some dense or oily exotic species.

                          Avoid shocking the floor.
Just like you, wood actually performs best with consistent indoor temperatures of 60°-80° F and indoor humidity levels of 30% - 50%. Very dry or humid regions of the country usually require extended conditioning. Maintaining the recommended acclimation levels even after the installation should be viewed as ongoing floor care. Your doing so will help to minimize board movement, excessive squeaks, finish cracking and gaps.

Hygrometers sold in most Target and Wal-Mart stores ($10-$45) can be used to easily identify the need to regulate the humidity or air moisture.
In addition, to prevent board warping or bowing, do not cut the plastic support bindings on the outside of the packaging until ready to install. Store products flat, in a dry place. Provide air flow under and around cartons. Do not store directly on bare concrete or next to outside walls. Cartons should be placed as close to the center of the installation area as possible.

Proper jobsite conditions, acclimation and moisture testing of the subfloor along with the new flooring all works together for the success of the installation and is the responsibility of those overseeing the project.

You could use a white oak Unfinished tread and stain to match. Unfortunately we do not have elm.

Some homecenters and paint retailers have stain matching computer software which can give you a perfect match.

                          OR

You can use multiple stains and/or thinner to achieve the correct color. This is a regular occurrence, remodelers, homeowners, and contractors alike achieve perfect matches with experimentation. Start with small cans until you find the right combination.

For general cleaning a swiffer type system works best. Not one that sprays the floor however. Lightly damp is fine but never soak or flood mop your floor. Do not use steam mops. Have a no shoes policy as much as possible. Use felt pads on all furniture. Sweep often.

Laminate Flooring Cleaner and Bellawood Cleaner works well, find here - http://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/s/flooring-molding-tools-accessories/floor-care-products
