Pros

  • Excellent product

Cons

    Best Uses

I had a hollow spot that developed in front of the refrigerator. It appeared to be getting bigger over time. I found this product advertised on-line with the availability to purchase locally at Lumber liquidators. This product is so easy to use, even for a DIYer. It is quick and it actually works...no more hollow spot! I highly recommend this product.

The product states that it is not for solid wood floors. Why?
What makes this product incompatible with solid wood?
The adhesive used for solid wood or engineered wood floors is the same.
What makes the "DriTac Solid Wood & Bamboo Floor Repair Kit" better for solid wood floors?
I have 1/2" solid Brazilian Walnut floors with a 8"x8" dip in the concrete that caused a hollow spot. I like the drill bit and injector method from this kit. It seems like the glue is very thin and easy to flow into the voids.

Asked on 1/26/2014 by Robert from Vancleave, MS

I found out why it is not supposed to be used for solid wood.

Because it is water based and will cause warping and/or cupping in solid wood floors.

Thanks for your great expert knowledge of your products and flooring in general.

      • Q:

We have a couple void / hollow spots under our engineered hardwood floor -- our floor was installed directly over our concrete slab / no additional subfloor between the slab and the engineered planks (very common installation in our area / no problems with the majority of the flooring / only a couple relatively small areas have voids) -- is this the proper adhesive to fix our problem? Thank you.

No, this is for repairing gluedown installations. You may (if necessary) need to remove and level your subfloor then replace.
