Comments about 15LB Felt Paper:
Took it back and bought their best quality underlayment. Great product. Cost more but worth the expense when installing expensive hardwood flooring.

Roll the paper out before you put down your flooring to keep it from rubbing on your subfloor.

Comments about 15LB Felt Paper:
This product worked great & was less costly than that sold locally in other stores. We used it when installing our new Strand bamboo flooring over an older wood floor that was too stained & worn to refinish. Did the prep work, stapled the felt down & cleat nailed our new floor planks- NO SQUEAKS! Love it!!!

Comments about 15LB Felt Paper:
About 10 feet into the roll, there was a fold that ran for about 8-10 feet. It caused a tear that made that part impossible to use at full width. Otherwise, fine.

Comments about 15LB Felt Paper:
The product unrolled easily and the lines on the paper helped to keep things straight. At one point it was left in the sunlight too long and melted a little bit. User error!

Q:
I'm installing 3/4" hardwood and using 15lb felt paper. Is there any difference between roofing felt paper and what is selling as 15lb flooring felt paper in home improvement centers like Home Depot or Lowes? Do you overlap or butt the felt paper?1 answer
A:
Should be the same product (perm rating of 0.8).Q:
is this ok to use under 6mm black forest oak laminate floor? it would be over a plywood sub floor.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Not as an underlayment. You will need either Foam Underlayment, Eco Silent Sound, Bellawood Premium Underlayment, or Quiet Walk underlayment for floating floors (unless you purchase foam attached laminate flooring which needs none) -Q:
Should this product be used On concrete?1 answer
A:
Not recommended, this is made to go over wood substrates.Q:
I'm installing 12mm laminate with pad attached over a wood subfloor. The basement below is not very moist. Do I need to use the felt paper? If I use it, would it constrict the floor from moving and therefore be more detrimental using it than not?1 answer
A:
Yes I would recommend this for your application. Roofing felt will not inhibit the movement of your floating laminate.Q:
Can I use the 15lb felt paper under your Marby Mills floating flooring? thank you1 answer
A:
As a moisture retarding barrier over a wood substrate- yes, this is not a cushioning supporting underlayment.Q:
what means is used for securing the felt paper.1 answer
A:
This underlayment product is just loose layed over the wood subfloor, I like to staple just the ends of each run near the wall to prevent it from rolling back up on me.Q:
Can felt be used as underlayment between concrete slab and laminate floating flooring and if so do you have any recomendations or comments?1 answer
A:
I recommend using our 6 mil poly whenever installing over a slab to block all potential moisture.Q:
I am having white Oak hard wood installed in the kitchen on a raised foundation, what underlayment is recommended?1 answer
A:
This product is recommended as a moisture for nail down solid wood flooring.Q:
Should I overlap the felt paper when installing?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
When installing over crawl spaces or rooms over basements use 15 lb. black roofing paper to provide some protection against moisture vapors, butt seam edges together. Red rosin paper may be used where there are no moisture issues.Q:
