NIRVANA by Dream Home- 8mm French Oak Laminate Flooring- 25 Year Warranty

Dream Home's Nirvana line of laminate floors will fill your home with harmonious style.
Nirvana Laminate Flooring StructureThis product has it all: an 8mm moisture-resistant core PLUS a 3mm pre-glued sound-proofing foam underlay, the feel of real wood grain and a 25 year warranty.

Quick Installation Tips:
- Designed for glue-less laying, and must be laid as a "floating floor".
- Subfloor must be clean, flat, smooth, and level.
- Moisture barrier is required for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can also be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of Bellawood Platinum, Bellawood Premium, Quiet Walk or the Eco Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments offer best joint/seam support while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities, these properties are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

NIRVANA Flooring Advantages:
- Real wood grain
- No glue and no nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- Thickness: 8mm + 3mm pre-glued underlayment
- AC Rating: 3

Decent Price/Performance Product

By NewYawkNiks

from Planet Earth

Keep in mind this is an economy product with a decent price/performance.

Install Tips:
-Layout of first row critical - take your time
-Some people have complained about the slight "ridge" on the butt ends of the planks. Do not trim them down. Lay the plank down with butt ends as close as possible (so the ridges almost overlap). Hold the end down and tap the far end slightly, they will snap together. Do not overdrive the ends together - you will create a slight rise in the seam that will wear over time.

Note: Count on some shipping damage - one plank per carton. I used most of these damaged planks for end cuts. During pickup from wharehouse, try not to take cartons from ends of shipping pallets as the pallet straps crush planks in boxes.

Take you time, plan your work, measure twice, cut once.

much better than carpet

Pros

  • Pad Is Attached
  • Reasonably Priced

Cons

  • Too Orangey In Color

Best Uses

Its not as easy as you think. You need to be careful not to damage the tongue. You will need a pull bar and hammer to get it together. Be sure to plan your cuts so that you don't have seams lining up with each other. Be sure you have a really good saw blade, or two!

Fantastic floor. Easy to install and clean. I would definitely buy this again. HOWEVER! I was a little upset because they changed the milling of the laminate. Which means I could not use the extra box I had a couple years ago. Now I can see why they changed it. It's a LOT easier to install now. I hardly had to tap the pieces together and they all snapped into place. I use it in 2 bedrooms and my living room. Can't go wrong with this floor.

So much better than nasty old carpet!

    By Karen

    Pros

    • Affordable Flooring
    • Easy To Install
    • Overall beauty

    Cons

    • Clean At Least Every Week
    • Clean Once A Week
    • Wood Raises If You Spill

    Best Uses

I used this product for my Master bedroom flooring, walk in closet, and hallway so far! Overall beauty without the nasty look of carpet. I installed it myself and it wears pretty good going on two years now. I did notice a couple of separated seams, but other than that it cleans up much easier than vacuuming carpet. I am planning to do my Living room next and Dining room eventually. I like the clean look of hardwood and this laminate achieves that without spending alot on solid wood.

      Not happy with this product.

      By JJ

      from Marianna, FL

This flooring was installed in the living room and when locking the panels together, I had chipping problems, also chipping when end tapping. I have installed all the flooring in our house and this was the only product that chipped so easily. I was not impressed with the base material, looked like compressed paper.

How do you install on stairs ?

          A:

Yes Laminates can be installed on stairs. For safety reasons these must be fully glued using urethane adhesives, do not use underlayments.
Laminate flooring can be used to cover a set of stairs but due to the overlap design of the stair nosings it would not be my first choice for a full flight of stairs.
We also sell replacement stair treads, retro-fit treads and risers. Thank you for your inquiry.

          Cleaning and Maintenance

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.
          Thank you for your inquiry.

Is this flooring o.k. to use in a kitchen, and if it is are there any precautions to be taken, other then the norm, wipe up spills, etc.
I've used this flooring in other areas of my house and love it, now my wife wants it in two more rooms, one being the kitchen. Thanks, Joe

        • Staff Reviewer

          A:

Hardwood, laminate (higher warranty laminate is better in high traffic areas like kitchens), cork, and bamboo is acceptable for installation in a kitchen, but we highly recommend you put a throw rug by the sink because an excess of water can damage any floor. These floorings are water resistant relative to normal spills but not water-proof. Any soaking spills will destroy any flooring with the exception of ceramic or stone tile. Thank you for your inquiry.
