Handscraped appearance and texture... Just like Hardwood flooring!

Kensington Manor by Dream Home - 12mm Glacier Peak Poplar Laminate Flooring - 30 Year Warranty

Kensington Manor is a premium 12mm + 3mm pre-glued underlayment laminate product line. What is unique is that most of the line has a handscraped finish appearance. This is not simply in the look, but also in the actual texture!
The combination of these 2 characteristics gives them a beautiful rustic feel!
Also, the V-groove and pre-glued 3mm underlayment will make your installation process quick and easy.

Quick Installation Tips:
- Store flooring flat for 48 hours in its original packaging at room temperature.
- Must be installed over a clean, stable, flat, smooth, and dry surface.
- Moisture barrier is required for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

Kensington Manor Flooring Advantages:
- No glue and no nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- Thickness: 12mm + 3mm (1/8") pre-glued underlayment
- AC Rating: 3
- 30 Year Warranty

We caught up with real Lumber Liquidators' customers who volunteered to discuss their floor shopping, buying and installation experiences. In no way did these customers receive compensation for their kind words. (They're speaking straight from the heart.)

              Best Uses

product laminate veneer chips and crumbles too easily if tap block not properly placed during install. fiberboard tongue and groove crumble and break too easily if struck wrong with installation tools. many pieces were difficult to connect as tongue and groove were difficult to clik lok. it does look great when finished properly.

I have installed a lot of Laminate and this is by far the easiest I have ever worked with. The box comes with 3 different size pieces. Have very little scrap. We couldn't be happier with the final result. Had to order the stair nose, t-molding, and end cap but it arrived 4 days after we ordered it. The Louisville staff (John)has always been great to work with.

                              • Except Bathrooms

First I want to start by saying I read A LOT of data on Laminate Floor Installation and the products offered on this website. The #1 complaint...tongues on planks break when using tapping block. What I figured out...use a small piece of a cut plank and a rubber mallet! The tongue and groove fit naturally together and guess what?? Not one broken tongue!!

Second, in regards to this particular laminate flooring...my first choice was the Jefferson White something-or-other, which was out of stock by the time I was ready to purchase. However, when I saw a sample at Lumber Liquidators, I quickly realized when the floor is put together there are small grooves between each plank to catch dirt and stuff and scratch your bare feet! Not with Glacier Peak Poplar! Look at the photos of each flooring carefully, you can see which will leave grooves and which wll connect smoothly between planks.

I LOVE THIS FLOOR!! From the 12mm + 3mm pre-glued underlayment makes this floor thick, tough, and durable to the ease of installation, the only thing against us was time. We installed 1200+sf in a little over 3 weeks. And a great price!! Compare the price to other laminates with the same specs. The light color makes our home feel very beachy!

CONS: Thickness of planks broke 2 saw blades. Coordinating moldings and transitions do not match planks exactly.

Flooring looks fabulous!! The padding on this flooring is heavy duty. You'll feel taller just walking on this flooring, but keep that thickness in mind when you look to install. For us it was not a problem and should not be unless you have some really unique cabinets in the kitchen that have zero clearance from the floor. The flooring looks so natural and the board by board install added to the beauty. Everyone who has seen the flooring loved it!!

I just ordered this flooring for my home along with stair noses. I know laminate is usually glued down for stair installations. What is the proper procedure for installing this on stairs since it has an attached underlayment? There is nothing I could find in the installation guide on stair applications

                                      A:

Remove the padding from the laminate.

                                      Floating Stair Step Installations:

                                      1. Starting from the bottom of the staircase working up, cut the stair riser to match the height and width of the step. The risers can be made from the flooring or other finished material.
                                      2. The flush Stair Nosing is then installed to overlap and cover the riser.
                                      (Nail and glue for safety,)
                                      3. Cut the flooring to length and assemble it with the Stair Nosing. The step
assembly can be done first and installed as one piece if preferred.
                                      4. An additional "filler" piece of flooring must be added to the back of the flooring.

The Steps and Risers should be attached by direct gluing to the stair using 100& urethane
construction adhesive or wood mastic. (For safety, omit all padding)

TIP; fit and adjust each step before gluing.
                                      Thank you for your inquiry.

A moisture test is recommended on all subfloors constructed over a crawl space or basement to determine if moisture is elevated. The source of elevated moisture should be identified and corrected before installation.
Moisture content of wood subfloor shall not exceed 12%. Test with meter.

A layer of 6mil poly sheeting should be installed as a moisture barrier over dirt floor of crawl space. Crawl space should be well ventilated and excessive moisture free.

Exterior conditions can influence home interior.

                                      1. Check water drainage from gutters, sprinklers, drainage to adjoining properties, changes to your home site or incorrect building procedures or damage can allow excessive water or moisture to penetrate basement walls, flow beneath concrete slabs and basement floors and into crawl spaces.

                                      2. Flooring should not be installed over any floor with a sump pump or in a room with a floor drain.

                                      3. Check specific local building codes for assistance when correcting excessive moisture

                                      4. Yard grading; inspect the outside surroundings for improper drainage or obvious sources of moisture. The soil should slope away from the foundation (at least 1/2" inch per foot for at least 10 feet). Walkways and driveways should direct water away from the
foundation. Adjoining properties should drain water away from the building site.
