Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Golden Teak Plank Handscraped:
We tore out nasty carpet in our family room and hallway (high traffic zone). I was initially concerned about durability and scratch resistance but after 6 months and a few birthday parties later the product has really held up. We have only a few minor scratches from a furniture move. We also have a 40 lbs dog and her nails have not scratched at all. I would avoid running a high powered upright vacuum cleaner with rigid bristles as that may potentially scurf the finish. We clean regularly with a swifter and Boa hardwood floor cleaning spray and it sparkles every time.
The hand scraped rich color shows character of wood and is actually very silky smooth on your feet. If you want a high sheen perfectly smooth finish, this is not the product.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Golden Teak Plank Handscraped:
We selected the Virginia Mills Golden Teak engineered flooring for 3 rooms in our home. We had a professional lay our flooring and it is absolutely beautiful!! We couldn't be happier with this selection! It is a rich and elegant color and makes such a huge difference over carpet or tile that you won't believe the transformation! The guy that laid our flooring told us that this was a great choice in flooring as it is basically scratch resistant. We have another home in another state and are currently laying this flooring in that home.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Golden Teak Plank Handscraped:
We just had it installed this week, 2000 sq ft in all main living areas and 4 bedrooms. Hoping it can withstand heavy traffic from 2 kids and 3 dogs. I was VERY nervous about going with LL but have to say that we have had no problems whatsoever with the staff or the professional installers that they sent out. I love the rich, warm look of this floor. Makes me feel like I have a brand new house!

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Golden Teak Plank Handscraped:
This wood has a very good grain and color to its shapes. Even when you log cabin the floor it butts together very well.Looked a floor that was installed 6 years ago, a few scratches from the couch that was moved around , but was in fantastic shape. We installed some more in the other living room.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Golden Teak Plank Handscraped:
The floor was so dynamic in the study, that I decided to replace the carpeting in my master bedroom and large walk-in closet with it. What a difference! Now my bedroom looks like a designer's showcase. This week I'm installing it in my remaining bedrooms and library. I never tire of hearing the raves I have been receiving about my new wood flooring. I'm glad I spent a bit more for the scraped wood look. You get what you pay for and it's worth every cent.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Golden Teak Plank Handscraped:
I decided to go with LL's contractor to install the floor as he was able to remove my old flooring in two rooms (multiple layers of old materials) a lot faster than I could. The work was fast and LL's contractor put in a good looking floor for a reasonable price. I am very happy with my new flooring and its far and away better than my old floor.

We have a seasonal home in AZ where we would like to install this product. We are not in the home during the summer months. Will we need to air condition the house in the summer? If so, what is the range we would need to maintain?1 answer
A:
Just like you, wood actually performs best with consistent indoor temperatures of 60°-80° F and indoor humidity levels of 30% - 50%. Very dry or humid regions of the country usually require extended conditioning. Maintaining the recommended acclimation levels even after the installation should be viewed as ongoing floor care. Your doing so will help to minimize board movement, excessive squeaks, finish cracking and gaps.Q:
what is the hardness or janka rating of this product?1 answer
A:
The Janka hardness test is done only on solid wood products and does not apply to a veneered flooring product, engineered flooring is not solid wood and only the thin surface veneer has the botanical species on it.Q:

I was planning to use this product in a room with several large windows. Will the light through these windows cause fading of this flooring. Do you recommend this flooring for kitchen?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Color-fastness is not a term used much with nature wood flooring. Stained flooring can be better because of the colored stain will provide more of a uniformity and lasting color. Natural color flooring on the other hand will change with age and exposure to UV light. These changes will even out with time but can be very apparent in the first months to year or so. Generally lighter colored woods can darken and darker woods lighten. Occasionally rotating rugs and furniture is recommended.
