We had a professional installer put the Golden Teak in my office, and it could not be more beautiful. The product is well-made and even. He had no problems with it at all, and it looks perfect in the room.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Select Golden Teak:

The Golden teak has many different colors and grains of wood, which is what my wife and I like best. You can blend the dark pieces with the light pieces and create a floor that has plenty of character. I had never installed hardwood floors before, but didn't have any major problems.
Make sure you use a respirator when cutting this wood. Because it is so hard, the saw dust created is very fine and you will be coughing immediately.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Select Golden Teak:

Be careful if you purchase this product. The boards vary in width and is not a "snap" to install. You have to make sure every board in a row is the exact same width, with no warping bends in it, or you will have major gap problems. Also this material shrinks a lot. Really make sure you wait at least a week before you install

Installed in kitchen about one year ago. The floor looks very nice and the wood itself is probably as hard as claimed, but the finish dents when even the smallest item is dropped on it. Would definitely not recommend it for any room where anything could possibly be dropped on it.

            Love the Bellawood -Golden Teak.
Only con is that I had to order another box of wood because I did not like the real light white pieces of wood (liked the darker pieces). I thought the light/white stood out to much for my taste. Otherwise, it is beautifully laid in my Family room and we all love the look.

            Service and delivery comments:

Prompt service. Great hard workers. They did a GREAT job. The family room floor looks beautiful.
Would highly recommend the workers I had. Very neat and clean and did a great job.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Select Golden Teak:

It is used in our living room, hallway and up the first two stairs of our house to a landing going to a loft where it transitions to carpeting. The color is varied from light to medium and to dark with a cinnamin glow in places. It can be striped or sworled or even without much knotting at all. It is a very interesting wood. Its a pretty hard wood, Janka 2330, maybe double what red oak is and that is what I like. The one thing I had difficulty with was the sawdust in the installation. I guess I was allergic to it as I coughed a lot. Now that it is down, I am fine.

              Service and delivery comments:

Lumber Liquidators delivered our Golden Teak on time and without delay. One guy came and delivered almost a ton of lumber from the truck in our house within 20 minutes of arriving. Can't ask for better than that.
Everyone I spoke with was very helpful in answering all my questions at the store or on the phone about my needs or anything else I asked.
Their references through HSS and a local installation contractor led me to Kara Flooring where my experience was top notch. I would go with Lumber Liquidators again and recommend them to my friends not only for service, but their pricing was not only fair but the best around.

Color is all over the map. You must be very selective when choosing what to install and what not to install. Nothing matched the samples from the showroom. Even the stair nosing did not match anything in this floor. Finish mars easily.

                    Service and delivery comments:

Not in stock. Must be ordered. If you need more, plan on waiting up to 2 weeks. Even stair nosing took 2 weeks to arrive.

All of our flooring products are designed and recommended for interior use only.
Being a natural product it will be subject to the effects of temperature and humidity. If proper heat and humidity levels are not maintained your flooring may shift, shrink, expand, gap or buckle.
I would recommend our porcelain wood look tile for this application.

                        A:

All wood species can change color over time due to oxidation or when exposed to light. In some species, the change can be more dramatic and may darken in color over time, while others tend to lighten. Currently there is no known value set for Patina or color change of a species so contractors and or customers should be aware of this normal condition. The patina process is unrelated to the urethane finishes. Thank you for your inquiry.

Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our solid natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4 and 5mm click together products that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.
Many dog scratches can be prevented by covering their nails with vinyl claw covers.

We purchased this gorgeous Golden Teak for our living room through an odd-lot, and have more than enough to lay in the kitchen, too. Our problem is that the floor in the kitchen is pretty uneven. Can we install this over a self-leveling compound? Can this floor be glued down?

                        A:

This is a solid 3/4" product designed to be nailed to a wood substrate.

But can be installed over concrete using our Elastilon underlayment.

What you should know about Elastilon Strong

An Elastilon-backed wood floor is much faster to install than traditional nail or glue-down methods.

Elastilon Strong can be installed on new concrete floors, handling up to 3.9% moisture content. A vapour barrier of at least 6 mil PE should be used below grade and on newly poured concrete above grade where the moisture content is above 3.9%.

Laid down with a 5/8” (15 mm) expansion gap, Elastilon Strong creates a dynamic, floating floor that expands or contracts naturally with the hardwood.

Elastilon Strong has no odor and is free of volatile materials.

                        Elastilon Strong gives cushioned comfort.

1/8” (3 mm) thick Elastilon Strong has ratings of IIC 62 and STC 54.

                        Thermal resistance: R _ 0,15 (m K) / W

Elastilon Strong carries a 70-year limited warranty.

                        Thank you for your inquiry.

Your PDF states to use a moinsture barrier over the plywood subfloor but doesn't say what type of barrier. Bruce wants plastic, Schone says never plastic over plywood.

When installing over a wood substrate we recommend using a permeable (breathable) moisture barrier such as 15 lb roofing felt or our Silicone Vapor Sheild.
