We had it installed by a professional, and it was a much better job than I could have done myself.
Although this is not fancy flooring that one might find in a Million Dollar home, it was perfect for a mountain cabin.

          • Basement

This was put in our basement after having to pull up carpet due to water damage. We chose vinyl plank flooring for its water resistance and durability in an area used by children and pets. We also liked the ability to easily remove damaged planks and replace, if needed, in the future. After looking at many different vinyl plank flooring options - we chose this because of its thickness, soft and textured feel, and a price that couldn't be beat.

We used the vinyl plank flooring in the entire beach house to replace older laminate, carpet and tile. It totally transformed the house. Easy clean up. No more worries about water on the laminate floor in the kitchen and utility areas. The Golden Teak 5mm vinyl planks go well with all wood colors as you can see from the photos. Our installation crew even commented how easy it was to put down and how wonderful our home looked after installation was complete. We highly recommend this product.

            Product in good condition
Only had about 10 planks that were a different color. They had a green hew to them. Thought this was odd given the type product. They are easy to spot.

I bought this because of the warranty, the ease of installation and the price was reasonable.I'm not fond of materials that are made to look like other materials, but I ordered some samples and took a shot. I chose this because it was going to be installed in a rental property, and it matched other woodwork in the apartment, the texture would camoflage scratches, and it would hold up better to renters than hardwoods. Only time will tell, but atleast its comparable in price to an average carpet that I know I would be replacing periodicly with people moving in and out, and if they spill something they can just wipe it up. I installed it myself(I am female)and the carpenter, who was installing new windows at the time, was impressed with how fast it went in and how good it looked when I was done. I floated it over the Dream Home Quiet Walk Underlayment With Moisture Barrier, which I am hoping will help with the heating bills and sound absorbtion. It does take away that tacky hard vinyl sound of walking on just the flooring over subfloor. So far it is everything that I expected. We'll see!

              Love our new floor!

My husband and I have two 70 lb. mix breed dogs that live mainly in the house. We installed a dog door so they have access to our fenced back yard. When we decided to replace all of the carpet, the associate at Lumber Liquidators suggested the Tranquility vinyl wood planks. I was surprised by the quality of the look and feel of the product. My husband did the grunt work of removing the old carpet and preparing the subfloor but I did the installing since he had to go back to work. The planks were easy to cut with a carpet knife and snapped together easily. I took a scrap piece and left it in a glass of water all day. It didn't warp, expand, or peel at all! We haven't bought area rugs yet so the dogs are slipping around when they get in a hurry. Our inexpensive vacuum picks up the dog hair and dust beautifully. We bought the cleaning kit. We vacuum first then use the cleaner with the Swiffer mop. I plan to write another review in about a year to share how the flooring holds up to the dogs.

              Service and delivery comments:

The service we received from Lumber Liquidators was amazing. They were very knowledgeable about the product and listened to our needs. During installation I had to call to ask a few questions and Brad (at the Springfield, MO location) was so helpful. He gave me a number to reach him after hours just incase I needed more help. Delivery was prompt. When I placed the order I was told it wouldn't be in for a week or so but it ended up coming in within the week. Out of 47 boxes I only had two planks that had a small chip in the corners.

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.

My husband is concerned about using this product in a kitchen/laundry/ powder room area. Because you cannot put kitchen cabinets on top of the vinyl, he is worried about water leaks that would get under the cabinet and then the flooring and cause mold, lifting etc. Also, how do you protect it from heavy furniture? If cabinets are too heavy, would furniture also be too heavy?
Asked on 2/19/2013 by Mary from Dallas, tx

                1 answer

                • CUSTOMER CARE

                  A:

Any and all flooring should be installed AFTER cabinets are installed. This is because flooring needs to expand and contract freely. Expansion gaps are needed around perimeter and around any fixed vertical obstructions. Quarter Round molding or shoe molding is used to cover the expansion gap.

Refrigerator, furniture, and other appliances can be placed over flooring.
