We have an aging dog who has accidents, and we, of course spill beverages from time to time. This flooring is easy to clean and maintain, even with the worst dog messes. We are retired with health issues and this floor is so much easier for us to maintain than carpet! More sanitary, too!

Have received many compliments on its beauty and comfortable feel underfoot.

I especially like the handscraped, semi-matte finish which hides dust and the occasional minor scratch.

This product has a great look - not at all like a typical vinyl. It is soft under the feet and cleans with ease. It is an excellent product for a hobby room.

About 8 months ago I installed 750 sq ft throughout my home. It took about 20 hours with two people. It is installed on grade in the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, two closets and two hallways. It is floating on a concrete slab and used with the Eco Silent underlayment which the store recommended. It was acclimated for 2 weeks prior to installation. The product is beautiful and the finish is very durable, no scratches at all in the 8 months it has been in and that includes a yellow lab that loves to play indoors. Product holds up to spills and dirt very well and is fairly easy to clean just sweeping followed by a swiffer.

Installation was pretty easy. The Eco silent underlayment is not very easy to work with as it does not like to lay flat and slides on the concrete slab easily. The guy at the store said it would not slide as much if you lay it down with the plastic side up but that is not the way it is directed to be installed. I installed it per directions with the plastic side down. The self-adhesive edges are a pain and so i resorted to taping the seams instead of using the adhesive strips. As far as installing the flooring that went really well. Pieces cut easily with a miter saw, table saw and a jig saw for more intricate cuts. After the first few rows flooring went down easily.

The floor was great for the first 2-3 months until pieces started crowning and separating. The crowning only is occuring in the living room and it causes a hollow sound when it is walked on. If you stand on the pieces they go flat but spring right back when you step off of them. The separating is occuring throught the floor and is occuring along the edges and at the ends of pieces. At first it was just a few pieces in the highest traffic areas, and I was able to push some of the pieces that gaped at the ends back together with my hands. As time went on the gaps became more wide spread(even to areas that get little to no foot traffic like the closets), and became larger(as large as 1/2"). Some I can still push back together others I can not. Moisture is the only reason the store person gave as to why he thought this was happening, but I think this is the response they give to any issue that arises. I don't see moisure affecting a vinyl product in general, especially when
            1. It was acclimated longer that is suggested
            2. I live in a fairly arid climate(western colorado)

I have recently gone through the process of a warranty claim on the floor. That process has been relativly painless, fill out some forms and send in pictures. The preliminary determination is that it is a product failure and I should be covered in full resulting in a store credit for the purchase price. That has yet to come through though after ~2 weeks. I am glad lumber liquidators is taking action but I wish I could be compensated for my time and effort of putting the defective floor in, now having to take it out, and installing a new floor when the store credit is finalized.

If the flooring would have stayed together and not crowned I feel like I would have been very happy with it due to its looks and finish durability. My next purchase will be something that glues down hopefully preventing anything like this happening again.

Vinyl plank does not get the respect it deserves. This is a click into place product with a tight fit, looks like hardwood, walks like hardwood underfoot and can be cleaned with anything but bleach. Great for kids, animals, busy households. Withstands water really well. And dog pee.

Installed this floor in my den this weekend. 310 square feet with quite a few cut outs took 15 hours start to finish. First 8 hours with two people, last seven on my own. Hardest part is making sure your first row is straight and exactly as you want it. I would recommend staggering your joints. For the width of my room I cut my left planks 25", next row 40", then 18", then 48" long. This gave a nice distance between joints and made sure you didn't see a row to row joint pattern. Watch for the patterns in the planks to make sure you don't have the same exact planks close to each other. Some boxes seemed to have quite a few duplicate planks in them, so use a few boxes at the same time!

bought this flooring for our kitchen. Love it & the color is perfect for our cupboards. Husband installed by himself with very little trouble. Everyone that sees it loves it. Very comfortable on the feet.

                                            A:

All flooring should be installed AFTER cabinets are installed. This is because flooring needs to expand and contract freely. Expansion gaps are needed around perimeter and around any fixed vertical obstructions (cabinets). Quarter Round molding or shoe molding is used to cover the expansion gap. Without the expansion gaps in place you can experience buckling of the flooring.

Always follow the manufacturer recommendations. Quote, "Do not fit this floor tight against any fixed, vertical objects (ex. walls, pipes, passageways, staircases). A minimum of 1⁄4” expansion space is required around the perimeter of the room as well as any fixed objects."

Refrigerator and other appliances can be placed over flooring.

I would like to use your 5mm vinyl golden teak flooring in a manufactured home. The existing floor is carpet over particle-board flooring. My question is, can I use your click-together planks on the particle-board flooring (after removing the carpet) or do you recommend that I put a sub floor down first? If so, what type do you recommend?

Yes the click vinyl can be installed over particle-board. All substrates must be structurally sound and free from movement or deflection.
The substrate must be clean, dry, flat and free of any defects.
To support the locking system, the sub floor must be smooth and flat. Thank you for your inquiry

                                            MAINTENANCE (Dos and DONTs)
                                            DO
                                            • Sweep or vacuum regularly.
                                            • Use cleaning products safe for vinyl planks.
•TEST cleaning products before use. Mineral spirits applied to a clean rag can be used for spot cleaning.
•Use non-staining casters, floor protectors on chair and table legs to distribute furniture weight and protect against scratches and indentation damage. (TRANQUILITY planks are scratch resistance, not scratch proof).
                                            • Protect your floor against burns. Planks can be damaged by burns from a cigarette, matches, or other extremely hot items.
                                            • Protect your floor from tracked-in dirt and grit particles by using natural-fiber mats at all outside entrances. Take the time to remove any imbedded grit particles from shoe soles before entering the room. Mats with rubber backings can cause permanent discoloration.
                                            • TRANQUILITY planks have good resistance to stains, not affected by most common household spills; however, any spill should be cleaned up immediately. The longer the spilled material is left on the floor, the greater the risk of permanently staining the floor.
                                            DO NOT
                                            • Do not use paste wax or solvent-based polishes.
                                            • Do not use abrasive cleansers or mop with soap-based detergents, these products can leave a sticky film on your floor.
                                            • Track in tar or asphalt from driveways, as this can also discolor vinyl.
                                            • Use caution with stiletto type high heels on your floor, these can cause permanent damage.
                                            • Avoid the use of rubber or latex-backed mats, as certain rubber compounds can permanently stain vinyl
(Consult the mat manufacturer to determine if the backing is safe for vinyl planks).
                                            • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight for prolonged periods; this can result in tile discoloration. Excessive temperatures might cause tile expansion or edge curling. During peak sunlight hours, the use of drapes or blinds is recommended especially on patio doors, etc., that receive intense sunlight.
                                            Thank you for your inquiry

Laminate floating flooring can be installed over any subfloor that is flat and level. Vinyl and tile should be well secured, heavily embossed floors may need removal.

That type of installation is not covered by the warranty as the manufacturer designed this flooring to float. Could it be done? Possibly however we have no testing to back up such an installation.
