I looked all over for alternatives. Just went right back to LL to get the best product. My application is from matching laminate to ceramic tile over a concrete pad. I did not install metal strip into pad.

                    Comments about Acacia Laminate T-Molding:

The product provides a nice transition between our new laminate flooring and the carpet, and it matches the Golden Acacia Laminate really well. However, we did have to raise the track in which the t-molding fits another 6mm to be able to secure it properly for our floors. That extra material is not provided with the t-molding. Also, I think this product shouldn't flex so much under my weight (small adult) when I step on top of it. We just hope it lasts as long as the flooring.

                    Comments about Acacia Laminate T-Molding:

It provides a nice transition from our tile. The color could match a bit better. It was a lot lighter than the floor itself. Be careful cutting the ends. As others have said, cut it upside down so the saw pulls up against the laminate to reduce chipping on the ends. Wood would look better, but a 7' t-mild in real teak is real spendy.

Was easy to install, but needed a rubber mallit to get it into grove hard enough.
Looks good and worked even onto a rug from flooring.
Only comes in the one length, had to buy extra one when only needing 3'.

It would be nice if the product was flexaable (ie. I have a rubber molding) as there is one transition that is curved.

Does the two different flooring have to be exactly the same height to use the T-Molding? If not, how much of a difference can the flooring be from using the T-Molding before I have to use the reducer?

You should have even floor surfaces give or take a 1/16". Otherwise you can use an End Cap or Reducer molding. Find information on these here - http://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/flooring/Flooring101

where can I find installation instructions for the T-molding? Need to know is one or both sides glued down? How is metal channel stock used? screwed down? is wood glued into the channel? Installation instructions would probably answer all of these questions.
