|
Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury. Quick Highlights: Strand To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure. This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty. And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

We had this installed for only a few weeks now on our main floor of our new home. It's absolutely beautiful, everyone who comes in comments first on it's appeal. We really enjoy the handscrapped and distressed look it provides to conceal wear. It's rustic while modern at the same time, we really enjoy our new floor so far.

We puchased our Anji Bamboo from the Harrisburg, PA store. I agonized over our choice for quite a long time. We went with the anji because of it's handscraped nature and the black tones along the edges. We like the distressed look. LL recommended T&T Flooring Installation and Sales ( Harrisburg, PA) as our installer. They completed the job in just over 2 days, including tear out of old carpet and wood, saving our baseboards and moving furniture. We are very happy with the installation. The visual change the hardwood makes in our home is amazing.

I did a nail down install with a soundproofing underlayment over an existing plywood subfoor.
Very good looking floor once it is done but it can be unforgiving during installation. It can splinter and crack easily when nailing and handling (be carefull with all tools used for installation) and you MUST have good high tooth count saw blades to cut so it won't chip or splinter. Once laid down, one small splinter could easily snag on a sock and cause big problems.
All in all beautiful flooring, I go as far as to call it an exquisite and exotic look. The appearance also blends very well and naturally with the floor tile we have in adjacent areas. Seems tough as can be, very solid and so far cleans up quick and easily. It just takes some getting used to when installing. I actually ended up with very little waste material when done (1% maybe) but I was extremely carefull with the install. I did have to pull some full boards that cracked/splintered when nailing/tapping and cut them and use them elsewhere, like closets or corners. Use caution when tapping mating boards, you can splinter boards already in place.
If it were a bit more forgiving during installation I'd give it a solid 5 rating, and to be fair my issues may be the same for all bamboo products, I don't know, this was my first bamboo installation. I did one living room, one stair case and a hallway with this flooring. The areas went from drab and average to a high class rustic look just with the addition of this bamboo. It is stunning and gets a ton of compliments.

The floors turned out beautifully! They were professionally installed so I don't know how hard or easy they were to install but I couldn't be happier with the results!

SO FAR WE REALLY LIKE IT. WE HAVE IT IN THE KITCHEN AND DINING ROOM. IT'S HARD ENOUGH THAT WE CAN ROLL THE FRIDGE OUT WITHOUT LEAVING ANY MARKS. YOU DO HAVE TO DRILL IT TO NAIL INTO IT AND YOUR SAW BLADE HAS TO BE SHARP OR IT BURNS THE ENDS WHEN YOU CUT.
Service and delivery comments:
I PICKED IT UP FROM IN STOCK INVENTORY. THE GUYS WERE VERY HELPFUL. BOUGHT IT ON SALE AND DIDN'T GET THE SALE PRICE. ONE CALL AND IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF. HAD TO BRING BACK WOOD VENTS BECAUSE THEY ARE TO THICK FOR THIS FLOOR. THEY CHARGED ME A RE-STOCKING FEE.

Great looking floor, Put it in basement and it turned out awesome
This is perfect in our 90 year old home. The walls weren't straight (obviously) but the installers, Carey's Floor Service (Jefferson City, MO) were awesome and figured it all out. They didn't leave until it was done correctly. The floor is beautiful even with the old, pine cabinets. We weren't sure it would work but it did. Highly recommend for durability and beauty!
a new kitchen floor looks great

We just had these installed yesterday so time will tell about durability over the test of time. But I will say that we are extremely happy with the finished look.
We installed these on our main floor; entryway, living room, dining room, kitchen and hallway to replace existing carpet and oak wood floors. It is amazing how this makes the areas appear larger yet still has a Cozy warmth we love.

How would you fill a few rough gouges and hide scratches? We installed about 1700sq ft of this flooring a few months ago and absolutely love it. It has held up beautifully with our 130lb dog's nails however he just managed to get a floor register vent up and drag it across the floor causing a few gouges and scratches. I love that this is already distressed and plan on buying black filler and pretending that this adds to the distressed look- but i am not sure if you recommend a filler pencil, stain pen or something else? Any brands/ techniques in particular? So appreciate any advice!1 answer
A:

Is Bamboo a good product in a home with a pool. Have kids a dog and a pool.1 answer
A:
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.Q:
I just got 90 boxes of Anji bamboo flooring delivered and it will be installed in 3 weeks. My intention was to open the boxes to let the wood breathe but is this necessary with this flooring? It's a formed product, not natural wood, probably very stable. Each box is cellophane wrapped.1 answer
