Very happy with this product.

By HMG

from Ashland, KY

Pros

  • Very Good Product

Cons

  • Small Boards

Best Uses

  • Whole house

Very good product for price. Color has red in it that looking at a single board can't tell. Googled wood type and they commented on this in color. Finish is matte not high gloss. Accessory boards not available but you can use beech. I used American Oak and stained to match. I am happy with that. Contractor LL referred I am extremely happy with his work. He was very hesitant when he saw the packaging but once he opened them he was very impressed with quality. Takes alot of nails and more time to install since small boards.

Good quality product

By Sharon

from Fairfield, NJ

Pros

  • Color is nice
  • High quality wood

Cons

  • Wider could be better

Best Uses

  • Whole house

The wood pieces in the boxes look exactly same as the sample I saw in the store. The finsh looks like expensive floors. I wished it could be 3inch or wider, but the deal is pretty good. So I bought it anyway.

  • Q:

can this flooring be nailed on concrete? Thanks
Asked on 7/24/2012 by At a loss from 87505

      A:

This is a solid 3/4" product designed to be nailed to a wood substrate.
But can be installed over concrete using our Elastilon underlayment.
What you should know about Elastilon Strong
An Elastilon-backed wood floor is much faster to install than traditional nail or glue-down methods.
Elastilon Strong can be installed on new concrete floors, handling up to 3.9% moisture content. A vapour barrier of at least 6 mil PE should be used below grade and on newly poured concrete above grade where the moisture content is above 3.9%.
Laid down with a 5/8” (15 mm) expansion gap, Elastilon Strong creates a dynamic, floating floor that expands or contracts naturally with the hardwood.
Elastilon Strong has no odor and is free of volatile materials.
      Elastilon Strong gives cushioned comfort.
1/8” (3 mm) thick Elastilon Strong has ratings of IIC 62 and STC 54.
      Thermal resistance: R _ 0,15 (m K) / W
Elastilon Strong carries a 70-year limited warranty. Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

I didn't see anything about the quality, i.e., is it cabin, rustic, select, etc. What is it?

Also, many of the answers are "this is a major manufacturer so we can't answer the question." That doesn't make sense, could you clarify?

My apologies, this material is listed as a Major Brand so those specs are not available to me, you can visit your most local store to see the material - it appears to be a natural grade based on the online photos
